Comments (87)Happy belated birthday to you, Sue! I love reading about your daily activities. You are proof of what I've long believed which is that staying active and busy is the secret to a long, healthy and happy life. I think many of the ladies and gents here at the KT must live by that philosophy as well!...See MoreHappy Birthday Marilyn!
Comments (36)Wow. I didn't expect this. Thank you all very much! I am doing fine. I absolutely love it here. We have been doing some repairs around the place, and Jody fenced off a space on each side of the driveway for my antique roses (which I am getting back into) and some native plants and of course a few waterlilies. I also have another big, fenced area just for waterlily tanks. Next week I am going to an antique rose event where cuttings are exchanged, plus speakers and a pot luck. Really looking forward to that. Here we have what they call "community water", and we are on that, but we recently had our own water well drilled and Jody piped water to all the pastures and all around. For the first time ever, I don't have to drag hoses. All pastures have water piped to them, even one far back that we won't use. It has an old barn and was the site of a blacksmith shop at the turn of the century (1900). There is a deep well there...locals call it a cistern. It is mostly wooded now...only about 6 acres. Some huge pecan trees and many squirrels live back there now, so at least I can provide water for them, even if I don't use it for the horses. The highlight of my day yesterday was discovering there is a wall plug in the feed room....probably in the tack room too...I haven't looked yet. Such luxuries/conveniences...I am not used to. I am as happy as if I had won the lottery. ;)...See More- 7 years ago
