I wanted to join this swap but didn't really want to do a craft.

I decided to go ahead and join in anyway.

I just finished and it's been fun deciding what to do and then doing it.

Ruth can't wait to see everyone's handiwork. I love doing crafts but it is hard for me to just take the time to do it.

Sorry to be this late in the day. It has been a busy one here.

The answers were yes, parakeet, robins.

I probably had various parakeets when I was young, never more than one at a time though. The one that I remember in particular was named Andy. They used to have these records to teach your bird to talk and Andy could say some things so he was special. My mother claimed that one day when it was close to the time I would return home from school she heard him say, "Mom, I'm home." I wasn't home yet.

Does anyone else remember when places like Woolworth's sold parakeets, canaries, those little turtles, fish, mice and other pets? I always went to see them when we shopped there, but I never had a canary - although I did have fish and turtles. I think they found out later on that those little turtles carried some kind of disease but I don't remember what it is. I've always thought it would be great to have a macaw or a cockatoo, but with an indoor cat and dog I don't think there are any pet birds in my future.

As for the robins, we've had flocks and flocks of them here lately. I saw them all over the trees here at home for several days and then saw them at the farm where my horses are as well -- I don't think the smaller birds come around at the same time since the robins are so large. Anyway, maybe a sign of Spring?

I thought quickly and came up with a game. Post these by the end of the day on the 15th if you want to participate. Only 5 song names per person because I know we could go on and on. It must be the title of the song and not just a lyric that is sung as part of the song.

So here's your task. List the 5 song titles of any love/romance style song that includes the word Bunny or Bunnies, Bird or Birds, Butterfly or Butterflies or Bloom or Blooms (not flowers --- must include the word bloom). 1 point for each of the 5 correct titles listed.

Margo made butterflies out of flowers and they are perfect. Even antennae with beads fastened to them.. The butterflies are magnets and I have them on my freezer. There was also a really cute card and some flower magnets that I can color (or leave as is) and add to my indoor butterfly garden

As for the points for songs, there were a few that I couldn't make a connection between the song and the theme of love or romance. Please correct me if I didn't make the connection and should have.

Have a great weekend. My daffodils are blooming and they are my favorite flower. We're supposed to get rain for several days so I hope they don't get tattered. If I see signs of that, I'll cut them and bring them inside to be in a vase. They last longer outside though so I hope it doesn't rain too hard.

Hello! just received Susan's package. Thank you Soo much! She included 7 little bunnies which made me smile! Ferrero Rocher chocolates (my favorite!), basil essential oil, an orange sharpie paint pen (will definitely be using this in future swaps), and seeds: Lemon Basil, Siam Queen basil, and tomatoes (Delicious, Brandywine, Giant Beef Hybrid, Arkansas Traveler, and Gold Medal). What a fun and thoughtful package!

Sure hope Beth is OK...she received her pkg 4 days ago. I tried to contact her before I mailed to make sure her address was correct but got no response.

Sorry, I just picked it up yesterday. We have had ice/snow and mess and today, men arrived to start working on my kitchen floor so.... chaos around here

I was not expecting work to start before next week but it seems my house is easier to reach than some others on the work list so, here they are.

Beth, I've had that happen, too, when repair people show up before they should have. It's chaos. I know it's probably equally bad when it's a long delay before they show up. I'm hoping to get a few things done in the upstairs bathrooms so I'll be joining in with a mess soon. Hopefully the project will only take a day or two. It will be nice to have the work completed though.

Everyone has made such cute things. Love the little bunnies and the items made by Shirley!

I received my package from Jeanne and I actually posted a picture and thanks from my phone yesterday. Fortunately I came on today because I don't see it. I can't post pics from this computer so will tell you I received an adorable little cardboard bunny with moveable arms that Jeanne made. I also got little bunny tags and a handmade note with a butterfly on the front. All so cute. She also included a package of carrots seeds which goes along with the bunnies. The swaps have been making their way across the country! I believe we have one more to arrive. The last point of the point game was to be for following the rules for what was sent, but I am not going to wait for that to declare a game winner --- RUTH is the winner! Beth thank you so much for the cute bunnies, card and chocolate. I am decorating for Spring/Easter and these will fit in perfectly.

Been at the hospital most of yesterday and today, Mom has pneumonia and we hope she can beat it. She is 89 but in good health until this hit her. We lost her Sister 3 weeks ago to pneumonia and praying Mom gets better. She ate good today but you have to feed her.

Shirley, sending up a prayer for your Mom. So important to have family support nearby when serious illness strikes. Hospitals can be wonderful but family is essential too. Take care of yourself too.

Thanks everyone, Mom has been moved back to the nursing home so doing much better. We spoiled her in the hospital by feeding her every meal so she asked me who was going to feed her even though she always fed herself. Love my Mom.
