You need 48” aisles. Measured from the furthest protuberance into those aisles. Like the fridge handles. Shorten the island by 2’, as a start. And it requires a prep sink. The kitchen would be better off with a peninsula than an island. It’s an over crowded appliance showroom too. The appliance choices are out if scale to it. And yet they aren’t even planned properly. Like the 54” 1200 CFM hood needed above the 48” range. Plus the makeup air system. Etc. Start over eith things more in scale with the actual size of the space.

Hi All, thank you for all your input. Due to budget constraints I am only trying to build the island for now (I may literally go bankrupt on the the landscaping work I will need come summer and that is work I am actually confident doing myself) which is why I was trying to avoid modifying the perimeter though I agree the fridge is in an irritating spot. The room I am working in is actually about 25'x25' with cathedral ceiling so it looks pretty open already. The kitchen is in just one quadrant. I always thought that around 40 inches is ideal for food prep surface to cooktop too much larger and I feel like I am reaching, but I am not entirely certain on that. The last thing I want is to make the space feel small or cluttered. All in all I feel like I kept working toward one idea which evolved into Frankenstein and starting thinking it wouldn't work so I appreciate the honesty. My main thing is that I am trying to include a LOT of storage in this (for grill or pizza oven accessories or other items for hiking/boating) which is why I was thinking double cabinet wide but I also wanted seating. For those of you thinking this is too big for the space, any ideas? What would you consider a max size? Or is this a if I want storage, back off on seating or vice versa situation?

Assuming the island is at least 23-1/2" deep, the Sharp SMD2470ASY would fit in the opening but the opening is both too tall and too wide. A shelf would have to be built inside the opening to raise the oven and a frame would have to be built to surround the oven on three sides to which the oven flange would be attached and to fill the gaps between the oven and cabinet.
