Help my curb appeal
Comments (18)I think staining or painting the red brick only looks like an improvement based on what people saw before. That is to say, if you came upon this house for the first time after all the suggestions for staining or painting had been done, you'd be thinking: How can I change the look of this house? The big black portico overhang is the thing I would most want to change, along with the black roof trim. The house has a design (not saying it is one I like) and I think uncovering the design would be a step in the right direction, rather than constantly applying coats of darker paint. Wondering if any other houses in the neighborhood are like this? Are there photos of the house when it was built? Would love to know what is behind the lattices....See MoreHelp with Curb Appeal
Comments (3)Maybe a different trim color and front door color? Yes to potted plants. Possibly two large ones, between the windows, with a trellis and tropical vine. Or next to porch column. Nice (but easy care) landscaping on the left side. Create a bed with plants, a bench, etc. Plant things that will screen the side street. A screen of some sort to hide the trash containers....See MoreHelp! Need curb appeal update!
Comments (4)Yeah, that yellow is a misfit with your home. And I also agree with changing the color of the shakes in the gable, or maybe even removing the shakes to put siding there. I’d pick a soft cream color for the siding but make sure it isn’t yellowish....See MoreHelp with curb appeal
Comments (11)I would paint the siding SW Classic Ivory and the front door SW Naval some native drought tolerent grasses spikey plants along foundation would soften the look. I would be tempted to paint the whole house and garage, including trims SW Naval for a complete change... But it will take a lot of primer and paint (Masonry paint) to cover what you have....See Moreflopsycat1
