Probably the inflorescence of bilbergia. Next time take shots of an entire plant too.

Definitely a bilberga inflorescence....most likely Bilbergia nutans. Mine usually starts to bloom right about now (early Feb?). Also known as queen's tears and friendship plant as it multiplies rapidly to be shared with friends :-)

Does look very like B nutans. Mine seem to flower when they feel like it, not at any particular time of year.
