Part 2, sofa, chairs & fabric choices! *New Pic's*
Comments (19)Nice choices, tinker. Did you ask about doing some other leg, or something to eliminate the wheels on the couch? I don't care for the look of that, either. Can't wait too see how this all comes together. I think doing the couch and two chairs will prove to be a great choice for you. As for the floor plan, as I mentioned on the other thread, I think in part it depends on whether you are putting a tv above the fireplace. I like the second and third layouts, guess it depends if you want to have that extra accent chair. You might also try the two chairs on one side, couch opposite them (I would likely put the couch on the left side of the fireplace, so you don't have the feeling of a wall as you come into the room on the right. One other choice with just the two chairs would be to put the couch on the left, one chair on the right with its back to the counter, a table on the corner, and the other chair at a right angle to that, facing the couch. I might open up the seating area a bit....See MoreWhole House Finished Pics
Comments (43)maisoui1, there are lots of chandeliers from all different places, but I will do my best. The light fixtures in the foyer, the great room, the upstairs laundry, the upstairs hall and the arch leading to the double doors are all from the Seagull Highlands collection The chandeliers in the kitchen are James R. Moder The chandelier in the master bath is from Shades of Light The chandelier is the conservatory is from Progress Electric and is from the Versailles collection. The chandelier in the sunroom is from Elk Lighting. The chandelier in the master bedroom is from Crystorama All the other ones were either custom-made (the beagle one) or antiques collected from ebay, antique shops, etc. The knobs: The kitchen glass are handmade and from Designer Glass Mosaics. The kitchen w/ the mother-of-pearl are from Schuab The maps in the great room are from Anthropologie The large glass in the dining room are from Anthropologie The beagles are Emtek The laundry room washtubs, socks etc are Emenee The flowers and bows in my closet are Anne at Home All the other ones (rocks, sea glass, etc.) are all custom-made from various people on Etsy. The glass doorknobs throughout the house are antiques that my fiance and his dad modified to work w/ regular door knob bases from Home Depot (that was quite a project involving taking apart 80 door knobs!)...See More(pic's) Sofa throw pillows, why am I finding this so hard!
Comments (27)Don't know if you have an IKEA around, but if you do, check out their cushion covers (I think you can also order on line for many of them). They have some amazing choices for a very reasonable price, and their feather pillow stuffers are terrific, again at a good price (they are not down, but fowl feathers, and are a great deal - I have a ton of them). The Alvine Lov pillow is wonderful, all embroidered, and a good size for your couches. I have two of those - shades of yellow, green and a blue-grey. The Urusula could be a perfect neutral for in there, and is 26x26, so a good corner pillow, with something more colorful in front of that if you like. I also like the Benzy Land....See MoreDon't post pics? Why or Why not? (Long, rambling, sorry!)
Comments (66)I am probably not going to be posting many pics when asking questions any more because I find that too many people are only looking at the pictures, NOT reading the text, and thus their responses are either directly contrary to something I've said in the text (for instance "get rid of XYZ" or "the color of ABC is wrong" when I've already said in the accompanying that I love XYZ so it's not going anywhere or that the color of ABC is really more toward mauve when it shows up as puce in the picture) or have nothing at all to do with what I'm asking. I find that intensely frustrating. I have almost no pictures of my current house because it's still in "whatta dump" stage. No paint (walls need a TON of work), short on furniture, dreadfully designed kitchen that's a perpetual mess because there's nowhere to put things... and forget outside pictures, a few weeks ago we ripped out almost every trace of vegetation outside (and will not be replacing it until next year, probably fall '09 to get the end-of-season sales) due to a honeysuckle invasion that I swear was growing by feet per day and was starting to attack the porch. I'll happily post pictures of my previous house because I think I did a pretty decent job with it. We're not on Google Maps but we're kinda-sorta on Google Earth - but the best you can get is a fuzzy whitish blob in the midst of a bunch of other fuzzy whitish blobs on a fuzzy grayish stripe. No closeups. Our town is clearly not a high priority as far as Google is concerned! WRT security - we live in a somewhat iffy neighborhood so I am one HECK of a lot more worried about the people a dozen houses down the street breaking in looking for meth money than I am about someone trying to track me down via the Internet (I Googlebate every so often just to see what's out there re: me) from half a dozen states away. I've been email-stalked and -harassed a bunch of times in my 18 years online because of my outspoken ;-) opinions and my ISPs have always been helpful in dealing with it. However, I've had meet-ups with a whole slew of people I've met online over the years, twice flying nearly cross-country to do so, and it's been grand fun....See MoreRachel Lee
