You vote: Mirrors in front of large picture window or to the side
Comments (9)oooooo! First, I have to confess, I have view-envy! I can understand your reluctance to cover it up. I too can see the pros and cons of either way but here are my main thoughts... #1 Although some of the view is missing, there still appears to be a pretty large area in the center. I think that the view would make an amazing "frame" around your mirrors. I'm also really into symmetry and balance so that appeals to me on this option. #2 Obviously, you'd enjoy even more of the beautiful view and it doesn't trouble me to have window directly above the sinks instead of a mirror. A pivoting mirror is interesting and if it were large enough and stable enough, it would seem fine to me. What might be an issue, in my opinion, is the single light on one side of the mirror. I think that would either not be enough light or at least would cause some unwanted shadows. I can't tell exactly where the light would hang in relation to the mirror when it is pivoted out into a usable position. Overall, I'd probably lean toward #1. I think you'll see much of the view and your mind will sort of "fill in the blanks" of what you don't see. What a lovely dilemma to have! Either way, it will be gorgeous and I hope you will continue to post pictures for the rest of us to enjoy. I'm currently searching for pendant lights for our guest bath reno so if you'd care to share what you've chosen, I'd love to see them. Good luck!...See MorePlease vote on light placement! Help!
Comments (4)I dunno...that doesn't really strike me as being a beside the mirror kind of light...I'm also not too sure how large the space is...it doesn't look like there is THAT much room on the right side...I say over.....See MoreNeed Tile Decision Help Again Please! Please Vote!
Comments (19)I'd vote for the basketweave (and not just because I used the floral on the wall in my kitchen). Mosaics generally aren't slippery - the grout lines make them grippier than a lot of large(r) format tiles. I have these crappy white 6x6's in every bathroom in this house (ugh) and you could like to kill yourself on those with wet feet. The issue with the floral is that onyx can be fragile. I got a pretty decent lot, but I also hand inspected every single sheet, removed the "uglies" and used two sheets to replace the rejected pieces. The marble also has some very distinct gray (which does not appear in your limestone) but does appear in my Corian, so I'm not bothered by it. And yes, I did use bright white grout and no, I would never use traditional white sanded grout on a bathroom floor. At a tile shop you'd likely have more choices in the white/cream family. I just think that overall the basketweave is a stronger choice for your space. If you got a very grey lot of the floral you'd be even more behind on tile - and stuck with it to boot. Comments (10)I like B and C; not just because they match the chandy, but because I just prefer them (and they happen to coordinate, which is nice). B might be a bit much to have on either side of the mirror, with all the candles on it and the chandy. I think C would look great; it ties with the central fixture but is a bit different. You could always replace the glass shade if you still didn't like it once you saw it in person. Lowes and HD carry many different kinds for $3-$10/piece....See Moreccwatters
