Outdoor kitchen-match it to stucco of house or use another stone?
Comments (0)We're in the process of building our home and deciding/planning our outdoor kitchen. Our home is modern and white stucco. Our builder suggested white austin stone for the outdoor kitchen. We do not have stone anywhere else in the house. If you have a stucco home and outdoor kitchen, what material did you use to build your outdoor kitchen? I'm leaning towards having it stucco as well to match the house but husband like the austin stone idea. I'm afraid it will look weird that the outdoor kitchen is different from the rest of the house....See MoreHelp updating 90's stacked stone and stucco home
Comments (0)Moving into a new home with stucco and stacked stone. Stone is warm toned. We'd love to change the paint and add some cedar shingles and real wood shutters (kind of a rustic, french country, lodge look?) and change the front door. Were thinking lighter paint (maybe a very light warm gray) and mahogany door and shutters. Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated! Thanks!...See MoreNeed Trim/Accent Stucco Color to complement Yellow Exterior Paint
Comments (68)I don't mind the white, but in that latest rendition it looks very washed out. If you had a terra cotta spanish roof tile, it would be fine, (Like this one) but w/that gray asphalt roof? I think you need some contrast or some wood. I love this style garage door in a dark color. I'd also do the roof fascia trim in ithe darker color, the window trim, and I brought in the wood slat under this front window (but you could also do the slat wood around the front door area too) Even w/the landscaping in first pic, notice the stone pathway, the urns, the DG, and I love those garage doors. Here's a stucco home w/a very light grayish white, white trim, but again, notice the dark garage door Imagine this home w/the white trim and white garage door, and a white retaining wall! see what I mean? Maybe Celery could somehow work in the darker trim, door and wood? maybe some slats in front or the retaining wall? another way to spice up the retaining wall: I still like a dark stucco color...See MoreFake stones bottom of white stucco house ?
Comments (16)Lighter painted colors do show dirt more easily, but you just have to add some cleaning/maintenance to your regular routine and it should look fine for many years. Regularly spray/clean the lower sections with a hose to get rid of any dirt/splatters/etc. Also get an extendable pole with a brush/duster to get rid of bugs/cobwebs that gather in the corners further up the walls....See Moreworthy
