I have electric blankets, one in the house, one in the RV. Love them, but don't often leave them on after I get in bed. I warm the bed with it first. I also have a heated throw that sounds good right about now! And, somewhere, a down comforter that I really should dig out. I like your quilt! I am color challanged. I think my graphic artist DB got all the color talent. Picking colors/designs that go together is very difficult for me. You did a great job! I have two treadle machines, one belonged to DH's grandmother, the other was my great grandmothers. I also have my great aunt's electric portable Singer. DH won't let me use it because of the antient and deteriating cord. He is an electrician and says no way! I won't have it re-wired either. I also have my aunt's electric machine, with out going to the basement, I have no idea what brand. Those are my antique machines. I also have a Kenmore that I got as a graduation gift in 1977, and a Husvarna Viking 500. And a Brother PE-150 embroidery machine. I don't sew much any more. I got burned out sewing for the kids and myself for so many years when money was sooooo tight. I don't even want to look a a machine much any more! Loved meeting you in your video! Tami

Thats right Squirrel!! I ADORE heated mattress pads --- very very toasty!~ Along with the duvet and an antique satin coverlet too ...... can't even describe the whole "Extreme Cozy" experience .....LOL! :) Can't think of the brand -- but I picked it up on sale at Target. Used to do flannel sheets back in Canada (and a heated mattress pad too .... and a duvet) but thats a BIT too toasty here in Dallas (and I'm still peri-menopausal too) Jan at the ooooo-so-cozy Rosemary Cottage

Anyone with some basic computer skills can put together a website and call themselves an institute. This one looks particularly bogus due to the complete lack of information about who is associated with the "institute." They didn't even bother to use an .org address. Contrast that with the Vitamin D Council. Here is a link that might be useful: Vitamin D Council

Jojoco, we have the double heated mattress pad up at the lake. Because it is a smaller bed and I am relatively tall, I can feel where the cord connects at the top of the base of the bed with my feet and it sometimes wakes me up. I don't think this would be an issue in a queen or king bed. Also, I did quite a bit of reading about the safety of blankets and heated pads (we have already had one major house fire and I am now quite wary). I can't remember specifics, but I think the F2 codes are common because of built in safety features that, shut down electrical supply when problems are detected. Unfortunately, I think these cause the wiring to be more sensitive and lower the overall life of the products. However, the trade off (better safety) is, IMHO, worth it.
