I use World's Best also, but we have had mice yet. I don't use the attract stuff, just the plain in the green bag. Maybe switch to the unscented clay litter for a while?

First, set up some live traps to catch the mice (safer for the cats), then switch to a clay based litter. I've tried WB but my dog liked to eat it and I found it tracked worse than other litter brands. Also, when two litter boxes were placed side by side, with WB in one box and a clay type litter in the other, the cats always chose the clay type.

I've tried nearly every brand but keep going back to Fresh Step Unscented.

You need to worry about ridding the house of the mice first and foremost! They can be very destructive!

I agree with arkansas girl 100%, sounds to me they are making beds in your sofa bed, they will probably have babies there soon.

Years ago I had to have one of cats receive radiation treatment for thyroid tumors. As a short term post treatment requirement I had to switch from a clay based litter to a Flushable litter - World Best. This so I could flush their litter down the toilet with the trace radioactive materials - as oppeosed to setting off radiation detector alarms at the County Dump and my cat and I being accused of terrorism.

(Cats would not tolerate the change of brand.) I realize the term flushable does not suggest mouse edible, but I really think the poop might be the attraction.

I agree with the previous posts. Your focus needs to be on safely getting rid of the mice infestation!

Thanks for ll the advice. We have been sealing off any possible entrance and this week the exterminators are coming to get some serious killing done. I guess I'l try clay litter and see what happens. I hate killing mice -- they're so cute, and their only crime is being hungry. But it's time to take back our house.

Just to be clear… For every one or two mice or rat your cat MIGHT kill, their litter is attracting 4-8 with the prospects of double and, or triple that soon after. Its been mostly understood that cats will deter, kill, or solve your rodent problems, but in fact theyre doing more to atttract them, by their strong litter odors. If you think about it, most people who aquire a rodent problem often times than none, are cat owners. Rodents have a good scence of smell and theyll be drawn in quite easily by the most foul or strong scents for feeding. They do carry diseases and can be very unhealthy for humans and pets. We had a rat issue last year which were coming from the neighbors house. He, as a matter of fact has cats. But they were sneaking into our garage and into the attic, of our house. My husband went around the entire house and sealed any possible entry they could possibly go through, and in the garage, where they made a hole down at the bottom of the wall, and underneath where the stucco is built out and into the lining of the inner wall. After the exterminator came, we never had the problem thereafter. Now my only problem is keeping those cats out of my front yard and garden. Coffee grounds seem to be a fantastic solution. It seems to be a deterrer of mostly all unwanted critters. so far, its almost like an invisible fence. lol Take care. Thank you for you comments. Our mice problem is contained in the attic. We have many traps in there and also in the bedrooms upstairs. they remain there thankfully. Never saw them anywhere else and we have had a professional come as well. It wasn’t until i changed my litter to WB that the mice were attracted to that this problem started. The mice or mouse decided to poop in the litter. Changed to clay, mouse stayed away but so did my cat. someone told me to buy Yesterdays News ( coming today) i am hoping this solves the mice from pooping in it. Time will tell
