Choosing a wall painting for over living room couch
I'm having a really grueling time trying to find a nice painting for over our couch. I find three that I generally like, but want to get other's opinions.
We have a red, warm room with brown, red, and white throughout. I'm hoping to soon paint the walls once our decor is complete.
out of the three paintings, which one do you think best compliments our room?
the poppies field I think best matches the colors in our room. However, I would like to paint our walls. The autumn red/orange aspen trees are probably my favorite, but I get concerned about having autumn colors especially when in the midst of and decorating for other seasons. Finally, I really very much like the multicolor birch painting, that it adds additional color to our room and just how it looks visually on it's own. However, I'm not sure how well it matches our room or draws out the best of our decor. What do you think?
I'm very much a novice and have needed a lot of help along the way with this all, so you thoughts are very much appreciated!

How important is it to wash living room wall before painting?
Comments (6)Hello Miss Marble! Most paint companies recommend washing walls for the absolute best results. Use TSP mixed with water, or a no-rinse substitute. Dirtex is another good wall-washer. I think it will be beautiful and soothing together...I think your wall color may be to yellow...that might be something that needs to be changed...or it could just be the light? Comments (25)Sounds like a fireplace re-do might be a longer-term fix. In the meantime, I'd paint the mantle a dark brown, a similar colour to your end tables. It's not trim and shouldn't be white. It pops out too much in the white colour. Another idea that doesn't involve any ripping-out is to go right over the existing mantle using a mantle slipcover in wood. 5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoThe wall behind the sofa is too small for the sofa. You can't even place any accent tables or lamps to illuminate the area. I think your room would be better served if the TV had been placed on that wall. Seems like the sofa should be placed on the wall adjacent to the fireplace.
