Need help with fireplace built-ins design...
Comments (1)Hello LoLauren-Hope you post photos of the finished project!I love a fireplace flanked by bookcases also.Beveled glass cabinets in a simple design would be gorgeous, but if you are trying to hide stored items then you could do wood cabinet doors with a darker antiqued glaze for interest as you have alot of wood. You didn't mention what your style is -white painted wood, rustic, traditional? Pamelak...See MoreFireplace built in?
Comments (0)My husband and I recently Added an 850 sqft addition off the back of our small 2 bdrm 1 bath house. In the addition there will be a living room, kitchen, pantry, and bathroom. Right now we are building the box for our gas fireplace to sit into. When i designed the layout i had intentions of having built-in window seats on both sides of the fireplace. Well now i can't decide if i want it or not. The reason i hesitate is because the windows are only 4ft away from the corner so if i put in a built in window seat it is sort of making it tight for a recliner or piece of furniture to see in that corner. I would post pics but im not sure how. Im actually having a lot of other dilemas with this fireplace such as trying to hide/ recess the tv above the fireplace... any tips would surly be appreciated....See MoreFireplace built ins
Comments (11)If an item is too small to be identified by a stranger from across the room, remove it. If there are more than 3 items in a shelf (other than books) remove excess. If there are more than 6 framed items in the shelves, pare down. Group remaining framed pieces with a large one behind two smaller ones, layered. Avoid soldierly line-ups of items. For a more exciting set of shelves, paint the backs of them in your accent color, or paint custom cut luan that can be slipped out when you want to change colors. Beef up scrawny, thin shelves with applied trim to the fronts....See MoreFireplace built-ins?
