Thanks everyone for all your ideas. I was so frustrated yesterday that I turned the skippy on and let it drip. I placed a piece of rubber liner under it so it can drain away from the filter. Thomba: Kit came with 2 rubber rings and one plastic ring. One rubber ring goes on the outside of the tank the other inside. Then the plastic one goes over the rubber one on the outside of the tank. It still leaks. Catherine: No I didn't try teflon or plumbers tape. Good idea though. I can't turn the square inside the tank because it's too close to the bottom of the tank. The corner catches as I try to turn it. My channel locks barely fit the plastic ring. Maybe I need bigger ones. Sandy: When I installed the skippy I didn't pour a footer or place it on cement blocks. It was level when I first set it up but I know it's not level now due to the ground settling. I raised my skimmer on Saturday and figured I would save the skippy remodel till next year. I thought the same thing because it doesn't leak till it gets a certain level. The area around the plug was clean but it was also wet. We were trying to do this in the pouring rain. Maybe it has to be completely dry to get a good seal. I already turned off and drained the skippy twice. This is getting very frustrating. Troy: Never head of o-ring grease. Do they sell it at Home Depot or Lowe's? Would it be in the plumbing section? Sam: Glue is an idea, but I think I'll use it as a last resort. Of course I could made a sandwich of hot glue, teflon tape and o-ring grease. I do have acrylic seal. Maybe I'll try some of that. It's supposed to rain all week so I probably won't be able to do anything till next weekend. At this point I am willing to try anything. Jenny

I just caught your question. I may be late in providing an answer. Hope this helps anyway. I bought a video produced by the University of Vermont extension which has helped me learn about tomato grafting. The title is "Grafting Greenhouse Tomatoes with Mike Collins." Seems that it cost about ten dollars. Now, the title limits the subject to "greenhouse tomato grafting. I have done this successfully following Mike's instructions, though I have not set the results out in the garden. So I can't speak for that. If you're willing to accept a few disasters in your attempt, this is a fun exercise.

(I mean that in the most respectful and delighted way.) JoAnn, here are some of my on, and on, and on-going quilt projects. Use whichever of these you wish. A Dresdan Plate block for a quilt I've been working on since 1994 or so. Each plate is about 14" across. I still have six waiting to be hand appliqued to the sprigged background blocks. When they're finished I can make one oversized queen quilt, or two twins. The colors are not true in these photos. The blackground is white; the colors are clear pastels. A closeup of a quarter section of the Dresdan plate. The petals were sewn together with a machine. The plates are hand appliqued to the background and then the yellow center is hand appliqued in place. Never again will I do a large, hand appliqued quilt. There's a reason God gave someone the sense to invent sewing machines! A Mariner's Compass test block. It will become a pillow top and given to a friend that likes it. The colors are this bright. Is egg dying a craft? I was happy with this little arrangement. My other life... I don't have many of my AF photos in the computer. I was in before the digital world took over. This was taken in basic; I was cold and miserable; we were just off a 6-hour march with stuffed duffels on our backs. Not Army hard but Air Force hard-enough! LOL The photo is sun faded and spotted; it was my Grandma's. I'm glad I got it scanned before any more damage was done. I was wearing fatigues and boots under the blue blazer. We had about two minutes to comb our hair (ha!) and touch up with any make up we remembered to stuff in our pockets at 0430. About five years later, snapped in my office at Dover AFB, DE. Don't you think fatigues are so very flattering to the female form? LOL My life now... Harry, flowers, purple martin colony, me. Yes, Cynic, I'll eventually get a photo taken that includes Sam. LOL
