Hmmmm, I think outdoor decs should reflect the homeowners' personality and the general feel of the inside decorations. What I mean, is that a home with more formal decs inside looks better with something similar outside. I like fun, cute outside decs when the homeowner's inside decs are similarly cute. So, how do you decorate the inside of your home? If it's more formal, perhaps just a couple of animated deer might be nice. You could add luminaries or other lights down your walkway and add more lights in potted decs on either side of your front door. For a fun, more animated look, I'm sure others here will have lots of great ideas for you. There are certainl6y a lot to choose from these days! Good luck! Lynn

Thanks!!! Sandi, I do make some of my decorations. But, I went and looked at the pictures I took and almost all of them are ones that I have bought. Luvs, we are out in the country. We live in the woods!!! The only problem with my porch is that it's not very wide.

If the breaker is a 20 amp breaker, then it should also be 12 gauge wire, and you COULD use a 20 amp GFCI, but it is not necessary. If you are putting more than 12 amps of Christmas lights on that receptacle, you run a pretty good risk of overheating the wires going into the panel, assuming (as you should) that the GFCI is not the only thing on the circuit. Your timer probably is not rated for over 15 amps either. Most newer GFCI receptacles are not designed to wrap the wire around the screw anymore. You put the wire(s) in the holes in the back and then tighten the screw on the side. It is designed for two (straight) wires that can go on either side.
