Different trim/door color in different rooms?

I have a can of Pro Classic Pure White that that was expensive and I can't return it.

I wanted to use Extra White for the trim and doors in the living room.

Would it be odd to still use the Pure White can in the bedrooms for the trim and doors? On some of the doors that open to the hallway obviously one side would be painted Pure White the other side Extra White, to match the rest of the rooms.

Is this done or is it something to be avoided? Thanks

It's always best to use the same trim throughout the home. The colors are pretty close but i suggest you just stick with one color to make it easy on yourself

The one thing I know about Pro Classic is it is best to let a professional painter use it. My painter was telling me that it dries so fast, that going back to touch up a missed spot is almost impossible. He thinks it is the best paint for cabinets and trim, but you have to work fast and know what you are doing.

Put it on eBay….someone will want a $70.00 can of paint at discount.

Leave the fireplace. It fits in the room. Is that actually paneling, or did someone just frame in parts of the wall over the sheetrock? If that is what was done, I would consider removing all that trim on the walls, fill in the nail holes, sand it and prime it and paint the walls, all a solid color. All that trim and framing are way too busy. Once you get furniture in the room, it seems to me, it would look over busy and not very nice. Nice sized room. Nice fireplace and floors.

Option 1 is fine. Don't see what the big deal is. In older houses, it was very common to have different styles (grades) of trim in functionally distinct rooms. Here are the two side of the dining room/kitchen doorway in my house: Dining room has fancy dentil molding, which is what's also in the foyer and living room. Then you go through the doorway into the kitchen, and this is on the other side: Super basic trim plus rosettes. Victorian equivalent of standard issue trim. This style is also upstairs (but not in the bathroom). They only went all out in the "public" rooms and then transitioned to the simple stuff for the kitchen because it's a kitchen. If the standard issue trim doesn't work in the bathroom (a separate and functionally distinct room), then get the trim that works.

Interior trim or exterior trim? It may also help to post drawings of the design and what the trim is like. WARNING: Posting your entire floor plan opens you up to facts you may not want to know, but should. Be prepared for suggestions that will make for a better design. Keep a thick skin, open mind, sense of humor, and a glass of wine within arms reach. You may not enjoy it, but everyone else will and you will be better off in the long run if you heed well the advice.

Your plan would work. It's unlikely anyone will really notice if a bedroom has Pure White trim and the hallway and living room Extra White.

And I love SW Pro-Classic, and find it very easy to work with.

Thanks. I've used pro classic before and found it okay as long as you don't over brush it, since it's self leveling.

I prefer trim to be the same in every room. That said, you just inspired me, to get busy and finally finish painting a couple of bedroom windows. I was rushed for time, when I changed the charcoal trim to black, and since I was expecting company, I left those bedroom windows charcoal. Its been a couple years and I dont have an excuse to not finish. LOL
