AG Wolf range burner problem
Comments (9)You need to be a bit more specific than does not light. Does the ignitor spark? Does gas come out? Can you light it with a match? Does any part of it light? Do all the other ignitors spark? (As long as the burner caps are seated properly, orientation doesn't make a difference. My Wolf fully ignites no matter how I orient the outer cap: slit opposite the ignitor or 180 degrees away.) Most likely problem is a cracked or broken ignitor if the other ignitors spark, followed by a bad ignitor module if none of them spark (unless you have a 48" unit which has two modules, so burners might spark on one side and not the other.)...See MoreAll 2007 Wolf AG owners please ....
Comments (150)So maybe my theory about the island trim being poorly designed is plausible..... That slight difference in the angle/direction of the vent holes could mean the difference between the thing working in applications like ours (agains the wall) or not, no? The woman we've been dealing with at Wolf and the senior tech both told us we should NOT NEED to use the hood in order for the burners to work, but never said we couldn't use it (they all still feel it's a good idea to use the hood when using any part of the range; oven or burners as per Wolf's directions in the manual), just that it's NOT NECESSARY to use the hood for good burner performance during pre-heat or any other time. The svce guys (except for the svce mgr) all seem to feel that using the hood (and on high no less!) IS necessary in order for the burners to function while the oven is preheating (and maybe even while in use, period). No wonder we're confused, huh plum? One person tells me one thing, another tells you something else, and yet another tells us both something different, and then Dave gets another story entirely. Between the range issues we've had (both the Jade and the Wolf), our pot filler faucet parts popping off all over the place, and fridge doors that keep on developing pinging noises while opening/closing them...is it any wonder I keep telling people we're only 99.9% done with our kitchen reno (and am afraid to begin the bathrooms reno planning)?!?!...See MoreWolf cooktop/oven or Wolf 36" range
Comments (29)Thank you all for the additional information. The main problem I'm having is I have to decide ASAP since the cabinetmaker will not start until I nail this down - he's supposed to start Monday and we're already 8 days behind schedule. The original plan was the Viking+Electrolux, and wiring has been done already. My original original plan was a cooktop + double ovens, but that didn't work out since there was no other place for the MW. So it was suggested to put the second oven under the cooktop. I convinced myself this was better in case either broke, I could replace each easier/cheaper - this may not be true. A couple days ago I thought, why not a Wolf range (since I was revisiting the whole thing) --- but with them being so expensive, and having to redo electrical --- I thought maybe it's easier just to go with the original plan. I'm glad you sent the info on the Bertazzoni since it looks like that cooktop would actually work with my oven -- I was worried I'd be limited since the Wolf cooktop plus some others will NOT work above the Electrolux oven. So I do have some options there if I need to replace.... Thanks again!...See MoreWolf Oven Not Heating
Comments (5)Of course, like the computer tech would suggest, did you turn off the breaker, count to 15, and turn it on again (to reboot the ovens)? My Wolf oven stack has a long cylindrical blower for cooling, and it can slowly accumulate grease and grime causing it to slow down or even stop. When this happens, one or more of the thermal fuses it cools along with the oven interior surfaces will blow to protect the system from slagging. So the answer is yes. Part of the staggering cost of SubZero/Wolf appliances is a very friendly (in my experience) crew of customer facing telephone receptionists who deal with questions and try to help customers out. In other words, Wolf will answer the phone. Try them for advice....See Moremrs_tidy
