backsplash suggestions to go with Yellow River Granite
Comments (3)My suggestion, Yellow River Granite, same as counters. We did that with our kitchen which is a Brazilian Granite, (Forgot the name), grrrrrrr but we had white tile before, which all of our bathrooms still have + the shower, so (At least for me), I have seen nuff grout for a lifetime, so didnt wanna be looking at it in the new Kitchen (Well was new in 2006). We still love it, our granite has a lotta movement and the backsplash kind of reminds of us the Local Mtns. I will admit we tend , "Not to follow the leaders" or incorporate that which is "Trendy" @ the present time. Good luck on yours, but for us , it was an easy BS decision. Comments (4)i love it. Large is good. Neutral is good. The fact that the tiles are LARGE and NEUTRAL and have TEXTURE adds visual interest. Go for it. BTW, I make red sauce every week and it does splatter on the walls. First time I freaked out: white tiles, white grout. thank goodness I put in teeny grout lines and sealed them. I knew what would happen. And I kinda like the tiles vertical like you have in the photo. But horizontal will look nice, too....See MoreHoned marble backsplash with soapstone counters

Comments (7)rmkitchen is referring to me. I am in the process of building a new home and will be using black minas soapstone on the perimeter counters and white statuario marble on my center island. My perimeter cabinets will be white inset shaker style and my island is dark stained alder to resemble walnut. My floors will be 6" walnut planks. I am still up in the air as to what to do for a backsplash so I can't help you there. I want to live in the house for a little while before I decide what to do for there. I am considering mini-brick soapstone to match the counter, stainless steel mini-brick and/or marble of some sort. The kitchen should mostly be done by the end of the month. Hopefully I'll have some pictures from my contractor since I live in NY right now and my new house is in Colorado! Sorry I'm not much help but I think the backsplash is a place one can make a statement and I'm not yet sure what I want mine to say :)...See MoreNewEnglandgal
