Need advice-Electrolux 30" built-in single convection wall oven
Comments (10)I just received my double convection 30 inch wave touch Electrolux! It's in the garage and obviously hasn't been installed so I haven't used it yet. I did go everywhere I could, Fegusons, Pacific Sales, Renwes, etc. etc. etc. and looked at all of the ovens, pulled out the shelves, examined the controls, discussed the merits of each with the sales people and after having dozens to choose from; I choose this one. I've heard great things about them from friends that have Electrolux appliances, but mostly I loved the easy gliding shelves. There's more of the gliders than in the other ovens I saw, I love that the light comes on dim and then ramps up. I love the shade of blue in the interior and I really like that the controls disappear until you touch them. Several of the places I visited used this oven in their kitchen for employees so I saw them live. They all seemed to think it was a great oven so that helped me with my decision. Who knew choosing an oven could be such a big and expensive decision???? Good luck with your choice....See Moreneed advice on how to do these built-ins...pics
Comments (4)Have you considered eliminating the cubbies down the right side of the tv cabinet, and moving the tv over? I am bothered by the three vertical rows of cubbies, as I think it contributes to the entire unit feeling off-balance. I would just leave the cubbies on either side of the fireplace, pulled forward with the front level of the fireplace, then do the rest of the cabinetry stepped back. By doing that, I am thinking you might be able to do three doors on the right side that would match the width of the doors on the left side....See MoreNeed ideas/advice for a built-in seat in shower stall
Comments (11)Thanks. My mom did mention possibly one of those white plastic chairs but not only are they unattractive (which they needn't be...someone just needs to care enough to design them nicer) but...then there's the issue of where to PUT the chair when she's not using it in the shower. However, it so happens we were also talking about potentially getting a teak/bamboo bench that's not too 'deep', to potentially put against the currently open side of the bathroom wall. This way folks can sit on the bench while drying if they want, and then the bench could possibly have a lower shelf too, on which to store things. So in this vein, it did occur to me that maybe we could get ONE bench that serves both purposes....goes in the shower when someone wants to sit, and then is put back outside the shower, and against the wall, when done. The only caveat however is...how manageable will it be getting the bench in and out of the shower... fitting through the door angle...and the weight of the bench......See MoreAdvice on built-ins next to stone fireplace?
Comments (7)Thank you for your insights. Unfortunately, I do not have a better picture of the whole wall right now. This is in a great room and the fireplace wall is about 28' until the back of stairs. Eventually we want to have a bar area on the opposite end of the wall, behind the stairs. We think built-ins across the whole length would be too much. We want the fireplace to be the focus so we want the built-ins to not protrude out into the room more than the fireplace. We want to use cabinets with doors on the bottom, so not sure how we would incorporate the window with cabinets? The window is close to the corner. We added this window so we could have a few of the creek from this direction. Wondering if maybe the bookshelves should end in line with the top of the windows, or under the 10" crown molding? Here is an earlier picture of the great room. It doesn't show the whole fireplace wall but you can see that the window next to fireplace is near the corner. But the adjoining wall is mostly windows....See Moresprink1es
