Hey, do you use a heating blanket to keep trees/plants warm?

I came up with this idea, well my mother, a couple of days ago and it worked!

Actually, my mom was going to just toss it and she told me I should drape it over my trees, orchids, and plants outside when it's cold and cover it with a tarp after.

It was 29 degrees the night before last and I draped it over my trees, then covered it with a tarp and it was nice and cozy under that! It kept all my trees from freezing and actually made for a warmer environment preventing me from having to bring everything in from freezing temps.

Then last night, I placed it on my table outside with temps in the mid twenties, pulled it up on all sides of my pots and then stuck a tarp over my trees, and while everything was frozen all around what was not covered, they were as happy as a lark when I uncovered them.

I might of started a new trend, lol

Have you tried this method yet? Makes for a huge heat mat in a sense.

Think of what else you could do with one keeping an open mind.

Settings were from 1 to 8 and I only set the temp display on 4. It warm enough.
