GE Profile/Cafe/Monogram Handle Swapping?
Comments (3)There's a whole thread about doing this! With elaborate how-to instructions and photos. I'm considering the same thing. The European-style Monogram door is reasonably compatible appearance-wise with the Cafe line (though the handle is thinner), and the whole door can be swapped onto the substantially less expensive Profile Advantium, and is amazingly inexpensive as a part (the complete door assembly can be had for well under $100). The "pro-style" door protrudes more from the body of the oven than the other two styles, though the handle is nicer and even more like the Cafe handle. Don't know if the handles are interchangable if you keep the doors, or for that matter if a handle from a 30"w electric Cafe wall oven will fit on an Advantium door. Comments (5)I might be chiming in a bit late for some of you but we have had the GE Cafe CD FD refrigerator plugged in for the past 3 days and so far so good! It is very quiet, keeps proper temperature in both the fridge and freezer, makes more ice than we'd ever use on a regular basis, and seems to be roomy enough for us. We love how one of the top shelves fold in to become half a shelf to make room for tall bottles and containers. The freezer compartments make organizing the freezer very easy. The door shelves are pretty deep and hold a lot of smaller bottles. NOTE: We are only 2 people in the house... I might not go for a CD fridge if there were more people as it might not be big enough. And we are not picky at all. We're coming from a HOTPOINT tiny little apartment size oldschool fridge, that while it never gave us a single problem in 12 years, was nothing to write home about in the looks and organization depts! In short, my initial review after 3 days of usage is, 2 thumbs up!! We love it! If it continues to operate this way forever we will be very happy....See MoreNew rebates on GE, GE Profile and GE Cafe appliances

Comments (27)Thank you for the pictures of the GE Cafe which looks so nice and I love the features. I also love the beautiful venting hoods in the pictures and that microwave is beautiful also but is too tall for me so I would need a step ladder to use it. I am leaning more towards this range but keep waking up at night about the NXR that I love the way it looks a little better and it has that small back-splash in the back but I hate to clean and wonder if I will dislike not having self-cleaning. My current oven I am not able to clean and it is still dirty looking but I know it is 20 years old but every time I think I can live without the self-cleaning feature, I open the oven and see that I was unable to clean it right and I dislike cleaning. Does anyone use the temperature probe and is it really the nice feature that I think it will be? I also need a circulating vent so I can't have the pretty overhead hood that I desire and keep searching for one that is exactly 30" to go in between my cabinets that does not require outside venting and it is making me unhappy with my few choices. Thanks for letting me share since my friends don't understand my need to have everything work well in my kitchen as well as be a look I love....See MoreHU-759513800
