What to do when landscape co. doesn't finish job?
Comments (1)It is not a design question (I only point that out because the powers that be emailed me about not being on topic and would like them to realize it is a broad topic). I think that you are doing all you can be doing as it sounds like you do not have a contract and have not paid a retainer. Dealing with people who run their busineeses professionally write contracts and take retainer fees. When those are not present, it should be an indicator of a business that is not well managed. If the business end of it is not well managed, then it is less likely that the work schedule is well managed. Think about that when you hire any contractor....See MoreMy table doesn't seem to have a finish to it?
Comments (3)Sand with 150 grit paper, hand(---follow the grain) or random orbit sander. I recommend varnish for tables. Not polyurethane varnish, just plain old varnish. Because it is durable, resists scratching/staining and can be fairly easily repaired. Polyurethane cannot be spot repaired and chips. I buy varnish at Sherwin Williams, but most brand name paint stores have comparable products. The stuff in a home improvement store can easily be way over the Use By date and seems to me to be an inferior product....See MorePics of Yet Another Almost Finished White Kitchen
Comments (26)Hello, thank you for all the positive feedback. Can't wait to show my kitchen to my friend in the 'burbs--her pantry is as big as my entire kitchen. Paint color on cabinets is SW Alabaster. Hubby thought it was too yellow at 1st but we're both pleased now. Perimeter countertops are Imperial Danby marble, which I obsessed over, but I honestly think could have gone with something different (and saved some $$). We used it for powder room sink vanity as well as kitchen sink window sill, and it looks nice there. Range hood is 36 in. Best hood. Architect spec'd 36 in hood for 30 in. Wolf cooktop, which was a good call. He also did a good job with lighting design....See MoreYet another question about Home Decorating
Comments (20)One more comment/complaint and then I will try to leave it aside for now -- with this new format, every time you open a thread, it opens a new tab or window on your browser. That seems totally unnecessary -- unless every window opened generates revenue somehow, but simply clicking through to another page doesn't, and it creates problems on the viewer's end. Maybe this is all revenue driven redesign, in which case loyals and conversations don't matter as much as a lot of people clicking around trying to find stuff -- at least in the short term....See More- 5 years ago
