Should I buy Wolf oven from ebay? URGENT!!
Comments (4)This may come too late in the day, so to speak, to help you with your decision. Nonetheless, I thought it appropriate to share what I have learned over the past few days about Wolf products being sold on eBay. Unless the seller is an authorized Wolf dealer, let the buyer beware. A 'new in the box' unit may simply be a defective unit that has be repackaged in the box from the replacement unit. According to the Wolf representatives I have spoken with over the past several days, defective units are to be scrapped and destroyed, not recycled on eBay. Wolf zealously guards its product and will gladly spend time researching any Wolf product for a prospective purchaser. All one needs to find everything there is to know about a Wolf product is the serial number. If the serial number is missing, the warranty is void ... and the product is likely a scrapped unit that has escaped destruction. Also, as a caution for those considering saving a few bucks by picking up a Series L oven from an eBay seller, find out whether the interior cavity is chipped or otherwise damaged. It is not economically feasible to replace the oven cavity even if it were otherwise possible to do so. The bottom line is get the serial number and follow up with a call to Wolf to get the history on the unit. Doing so will take most of the guess work out of the risk vs benefit analysis. Comments (10)I wouldn't even count this past week as a working week. She could easily be on vacation and I doubt she expected you to return personalized material so quickly via priority mail. (Why did you pay extra for priority -that may actually be holding up your credit - she may have been planning on issuing you shipping credit too but when you sent it back a priority she may not know how much or what amount is fair to credit you). Was the "priority" shipping charge substantial? Sellers send out stuff priority because buyers are waiting for it; but for returns that aren't seasonal, and especially those that are personalized, using priority is probably just a waste. I believe all that priority does is speed up the shipping time for an extra cost. Anyway, I'd give it until Tues or Wed and then follow up if she doesn't respond by then. You may want to note that you expect to pay the shipping charges especailly considering the product really wasn't really incorrect or grossly misrepresented per se....See MoreHow should I handle this wood work?? pics
Comments (5)Personally I don't care for painting over stained wood unless it's in such bad shape it's the only recourse. I'd leave the family room wood stained. It works better with the brick wall and the feel of the room in my opinion. You could still paint the ceiling between the beams in a lighter shade than the walls. That would make the wood look richer. ~Becky...See MoreHow do you handle non-paying eBay buyers?
Comments (9)You've filed a dispute. He will get a friendly reminder from eBay. He has 7 days to respond. He'll either pay, or attempt to strike a deal for an adjustment or give you a story about family problems, frozen accounts, and try to stall, etc. OR he won't respond at all. If he pays, fine. But if he doesn't, then..... At this point you close the dispute by clicking. "I no longer wish to communicate with this buyer". You get your fees back; you can relist; and you leave a negative. Because he did not respond he forfeits the right to leave a negative that counts against you and he gets a Strike against him.. 3 Strikes and he's gone. As far as leaving a neg, I would simply state the facts. For example, "Auction ended 11/05;after 3 emails & invoices no $$.Filed dispute 12/02. You have 90 days to leave feedback. You also have only 45 days to settle and close this dispute. If you don't proceed in a timely manner eBay will automatically close the dispute and you'll have no decision in the matter. Sounds like you're approaching the cut-off date....See Morequasifish
