New England weather...roses + Butterfly bushes still have foliage
Comments (7)I have lots of leaves on my BB and roses too. Also oakleaf hydrangea has leaves. Also daphne 'Carol Mckie' (known to be a late dropper). My pansies are still mildly blooming. Geraniums and coral bells are looking good, but they are semi-evergreen here anyhow, so that probably doesn't count. Its been a very mild Nov/Dec so far. I love it! Although these oddities sometimes confuse our plants, they will compensate. I heard some crocuses are coming up. And someone I know mowed their grass recently!...See MoreNew England Weather Disaster
Comments (10)You have my sympathy. Last year we had no power for 5 days. Our house is rather open, and the fireplace is gas. We bought some indoor gas heaters, and used a boy scout cooking stove, but we were miserable. I remember hearing the limbs break and crash to the ground. A neighboring school went back to classes even though most of the people did not have power, I so much feared that ours would go back, and I would have to return without being able to blow dry my hair. (That is a requirement for me.) I was so bored, and could not comfortably work in other rooms in the house but the living room. Many churches in our area were inviting people to come in even for a short time if they wished. I wish we had gone over to our church for awhile just to get a little warm all over without blankets, since my church even invited people to bring in their animals. We were so lucky also to have water. We were also lucky that about a year before, I had been concerned about the cost of insurance if something messed up our house and it was our fault. I paid to have a guy come out and cut some huge branches off of trees that could have possibly fallen on our house. Of all the dumb things I do, that ranks as one of the smartest. I hope you all have relief soon, and don't have the nasty stuff we are sending you now. Sammy...See MoreHELP!!! Nighshades needed.
Comments (1)I hope you were able to get the plants you needed....See MoreEON decking,
Comments (29)I used Eon decking about 17 years ago. The worst decking company in the world. Consumer Digest rated it the top of the line at the time and so did Home Depot. What a joke. My boards are cracking everywhere and the color is not the same. The problem that I have is that the company claimed that it was a 100% guarantee. I tried to get them to honor that guarantee and they stated that they were bankrupt and out of business. I have two decks that cost me over $20,000. I am pissed. If I replace some of the boards they will probable crack again and still the color is off. I am told the only place I can get them from is Canada. Please, whoever is thinking about Eon don't. My neighbor used Ultra decking and he is totally happy with his deck. I wish I could sue this company but that had a letter out there that wouldn't let you sue them. It is totally unfair....See Moreprairiemoon2 z6b MA
