But first -- you may want to wait until you move into the new place and see how the room really feels and works for you ... but the black blinds may work with your color scheme for the present ... and -- of course -- every room is so very different when you add lots of lamps and lighting options ... Plus ... do you have artworks with your colors? Or perhaps an area rug? Sometimes it is easier to find those kinds of items first -- and then match the tones to your walls ... Comments (18)A globe would also be useful, and not reinforce the misapprehension held by so many today that the world is flat. The standard Mercator projection that most of us grew up with is a very distorted view, look into the kind that represent basically a globe-covering taken off, cut, and flattened, rather than the one where the lines of longitude are drawn parallel (hint: in reality they converge at the poles). Comments (9)Your ceilings are not really that high, don't worry about decorating all of the tall wall. I read here once that if you decorate nicely at the people level, your tall ceiling will make your space look nice and airy, not bare. I would do one or two big items like Olychick posted, there is not need to decorate the whole wall. Comments (11)I did have some greenery on the windows, but took it down to use for decorations in my wedding. I know they look so awkward, I've been meaning to take them down! The shelf I actually just had up temporary with command strips to see how it looked. So I think I just need a clean slate! Are you seeing something like 4-6 huge canvases in place of the shelf?
