How do you clean your pebble shower floor?
Comments (8)i have a river rock pebble floor in my master shower. love it. feels so good on my feet. i used "porous plus" to seal it originally. easy to use. just wiped it on. used a sponge. let dry for 24 hrs. my grout is grey--can't remember what brand, whatever tile guy recommended but nothing special-- it darkened just a little after sealing. which made me happy because i thought it was too light to start with. it's been a year now i haven't sealed it again but i'm thinking i will. grout starting to look just a little lighter in color. the pebbles looked a little tiny bit brighter after sealing and that hasn't changed at all. i try to use non toxic cleaners--"method" brand or seventh generation or windex without ammonia in the shower and haven't had any problems. also i usually try to rinse all soap residue off the floor before i get out of the shower but that's about it. when you use porous plus, try to remember less is more. you don't need much---if floor is still wet 4 or 5 minutes after you sponge it on just wipe off excess. it will get sticky if you put too much on at once and that's what you want to avoid. very very simple though. i have never done any thing like this before. good luck...See MoreCracking grout on pebble shower floor
Comments (9)I think you need to know what sealer was used initially, I don't think you put water based sealer over solvent based, but I will leave that to the tile experts to weigh in on. Our tile guy told us to flood the floor with sealer, give it 15 minutes to absorb, then wipe up excess, allow that to dry and repeat until the tile and grout will not absorb any more sealer. But, I'm not sure lack of sealer will make grout crack, sounds like it was mixed too dry- did you call the tile installer or the GC and ask them?...See Morepebble tec pebble sheen problems
Comments (21)I know this is an old post, but I am having a similar issue with same pebble plaster pictured in the original post except mine is already 12 years old. This year, I had the pool acid washed. The acid was diluted propery from what I know. The pitting isn't really terrible, a lot of pebbles come loose apparently when you acid wash, but the discoloration started to appear mainly in two small areas over the course of the season. I have never had a plaster issue before. My pool guy insists that it's not the acid wash - and maybe he's 100% correct - but I have no other explanation. Yet. I bought an underwater camera but haven't yet developed the film. In the meantime, can any of you here shed light on acid washing pebble plaster. I've read a lot of posts where pool experts warn against it. My pool guy assures me that it's a lot of chatter, and, that done right, acid washing pebble is fine. I treasure this guy, he's hard working and honest. It's not a good spot to be in. I just want to figure out what is going on....See MorePebble tec for bathroom floor...including shower.
Comments (5)I think the OP meant the pool pebble tec. I am planning to use a quartz aggregate or simple concrete epoxy along with a zero threshold shower system. My shower guy is confident in that. I would see pebble tec as the same as the quartz aggregate....See MoreRochal C
