I quit doing cards and it's a good thing because I lost all my addresses in the flood so I couldn't send any out any way.

Everyone, just about, starts out as a lurker. I know I did.

no projects here--but I did get my first gift order yesterday!! oh and I did nag DH about his beginning thoughts on the ornaments he carves for the kids we once had!!

I'll be continuing to make putz houses because I'm addicted to the pleasure. They're for my Christmas garden which means I am now searching - not too successfully - for additions such as carolers, skaters, lamp posts etc. to add to the houses. I have found some bottle brush trees, but other accessories have escaped me. Suggestions welcome.

I am just enjoying this summer to fall weather, not rushing into Christmas. I’m living in the moment. I do understand that there are those who like to start planning early.

dandyrandylou, tell us more about your putz houses and how you make them. Can you share a pic?

I have a nice selection of glass items to make some pretty glass garden totems. I just need to get in gear and start. I am going to make some sea shell ornaments too for my tree. And some using those glass marble things that go in the bottom of vases. So many great ideas on pinterest.

I bought a few things for my dining table for Christmas at the new Tuesday morning today. Man they have some beautiful stuff in the new store.

I have always loved Tuesday Morning. Back when it seemed like all of my friends were getting married, most for the second time, I could always find some type of nice item for their gift. So many generic things. At one time I also would bring home some of the foodstuffs. Should be about time for them to be bringing in their holiday stuff. I love to look but no longer buy.

pudgeder - We are moving and my putz houses are all packed, so - sorry no pic. However, if you enter putz houses on the web, you will get lots of information. If you decide you want to make them I'd be willing to help in any way I can - if you need help. Please let me know how you make out. Louise

Every year we send our daughter a pair of pajamas or a robe, plus a gift card. I don't "make" any Christmas gifts anymore but I make all of my Christmas cards, about 80 of them, and have them done for this year. Next I need to start making "next year's" birthday cards, about 100 of those.

We no longer decorate or exchange gifts but I do enjoy looking at all the holiday items in the stores...just not yet. I'd like to enjoy Halloween and Thanksgiving first. :-)

Except for making jewelry, I've never been very crafty, so no handmade gifts or decorations from me.

I can't wait to see pictures of what some of you are making to give as gifts- they sound really great!

Our families don't seem to appreciate home made gifts very well, so I stopped making anything much. Most of our gifts are already purchased- it's a September/October habit from when I would start Christmas shopping with the school fundraiser :^). We don't buy many gifts though, so that's not a huge accomplishment! Over the summer, I did crochet an octagonal afghan out of cotton to give to my mother for Christmas.

Sandwich boards, candle lamps made with ceiling fan light shades, small signs and cotton tote bags.

This will be our third year to give home grown, home preserved items. This year we'll be giving peaches, garlic dill pickles, Chinese style sweet and sour plum sauce, rubbed sage, dehydrated sweet pepper, and sunshine sweet pickles. Maybe Italian beans. We've been working toward this since February if you count the seed starting. Everything gets packed in baskets.
