Mirror Math II - mirrors flanking a bed
Comments (23)Update: I looked high and low (well mostly surfed the web) for nightstands. Looked at a lot of generic stuff, a whacky tibetan pair from 1st Dibs, a set from Craigs List that sold out from under me, and even a pair from Stenella that was too formal. These were my choices, which I thought i'd include for anyone else on a nigthstand search. Then, I came across a set that I just love. They have a driftwood look, and I like the birds with the other fabric. They feel summery. I bought them. I will leave the final decision on the MIRRORS until everything is in place....See MoreHow to light vanity mirrors across from large windows
Comments (1)I'm curious, too. I have a large window directly behind our vanity and am ready to redo in there. The lighting is a problem. My windows face east. No neighbors, so we don't have window treatments. Currently, we have sconces and overhead lighting....See MoreDesign Dilemma - Vanity Mirror/Sconce Placement
Comments (5)Great design concept! Two mirrors with 3 sconces could work for your space if you are willing to scale down the mirrors a bit. Because there are multiple variables to factor in the centering of the mirrors, consider condensing your variables to ensure accuracy and execute a thoughtful design. If you are open to it, two smaller framed mirrors would be a great alternative to custom millwork but still offer a rich, customized look: Going this route, you will have a little more room to space out your sconces appropriately and center your mirrors without compromising form or function. Best of luck with your project!...See MoreMaster bath: One sink or two? One large wall mirror or two mirrors?
Comments (19)I recently remodeled and changed the double sinks for one sink plus a nice area where I can sit down for my ablutions. I wanted the increased counter space as well as the increased storage space. I don't spend that much time over a sink anyway so I don't see what the big deal is to have one sink. I especially think it is ridiculous when I see two sinks crammed into a small vanity with a tiny bit of counter space - so big deal you have a dysfunctional bathroom space but you have two sinks. I remodeled for my needs and my aesthetic vision. I am not planning to move and if someone doesn't like it, they can fairly easily just reconnect the plumbing and add the second sink. In terms of mirror treatment, I did a ceiling to counter wall to wall mirror but then put two different mirror treatments above the sink and the "grooming area". The wall to wall mirrors lightens and enlarges my rather small space and the two different mirror treatments differentiate it as well. I also have two Art Deco style sconces above the sink and a version a makeup lighting above the grooming sit down area....See Moreguoxiaotian
