Just purcbased a 1983 split

entry home in Eagan MN and after removing the carpet we found the flooring is Gypcrete. The bad is there is large chunks that are loose and coming up, mostly the length of the hallway, I would estimate around 150 sqft is in need of repair. However I can’t find anyone that knows much about it or enough to want to repair. I did find someone who would replace it for about $1500 but I would have to demo. Any ideas? Located in MN and pretty handy, just don’t know where to start.
