Local Apple Barn

Maybe looking for a barn...a really big one.

Somewhere in Vermont:

Wherever

Not that it matters but awhile ago when visiting friends of a friend who live outside of Galway (on the west coast of Ireland), we were taken to a sheep farm/tourist attraction that I think was named Rathbaun Farm. Maybe it's two different places with the same name but the one we went to for sure was in Ireland.

Edit to add

Thanks glenda, your original post said Scotland, which was what prompted my comment. You changed what you said and with that, my comment makes no sense.

At LEAST I participate!

They also come in bright yellow (probably special order).

And another, also somewhere in Vermont. This one was next door to a maple syrup farm near Montpelier if memory serves correctly. Really loved Vermont and would like to go back someday.

Come on back Dawn - you're always welcome. We have many local farms of this sort here (I'm 5 miles from Montpelier) and maple sugar/syrup is only one of the nice features. The sugaring actually takes place in March/April when the sap is running. Quite an intricate and labor intensive harvest. Other times of year we have different specialties but not quite so famous as our fall features.

Uptown Gal, your round barn puts me in mind of "The Cat Who...." books. Didn't Quilleran live in a round barn?

My barn is the one up at the farm where Teddy lived. He's even in this picture!

murraysmom Zone 6a OH I think Quilleran did live in a round barn. I love those books. i think I have every one of them.

Thanks, skibby!

You live in a wonderful state and if/when I come back, I'll be sure to let you know. I was there with my sister and two friends to see the fall colors four years ago. It was a great trip - we had some memorable experiences, fantastic food, met some really nice people and saw some absolutely gorgeous scenery.

I was sure I'd planted a perennial coreopsis. Yet, I kept seeing an annual coreopsis growing in the spot? Anything could've been a volunteer seedling. The annual coreopsis is on the other side of the yard, and I'm pretty sure didn't get to set seeds. How it ended up in the EXACT same spot is mind boggling! Mixed together. Red green flat foliage is annual, yellow green upright foliage is perennial.

From last fall.
