I don't like pink at all, but know others do. I am puzzled by the link because the pink on the wall looks pretty good, but the pink to the left in the sample (supposedly the same color) looks much different to me and not in a good way.

Nope. The only pink I ever used was in my daughter's room when she was little and it was the softest palest pink they made.

I already used it as fabric paint on an ottoman. I like it but then my rooms are very colorful, the complete opposite of the Pottery Barn neutral look (which I also like).

I am in the middle of painting the side tables white, I might just leave them like that.

It would depend on if it is just a wash or a solid color and how you were using it. If the table were distressed with some white wash over it, it might be cute. I’m not a fan of it as is.

It’s not my favorite color but I love that you’re being creative and using colors that you’re attracted to as opposed to what’s “in” right now. Thinking outside the box is what can set a room apart from others and create new trends. My vote would be GO FOR IT! It’s paint. When it’s all said and done, if you really don’t like it, you can always redo it.

I am moving in 3 weeks, I think I'll set everything up including the ottoman in the new apt and see what it looks like. And then go for it. I do like lots of color but there is a difference between having plenty of color and a room that looks like a bad acid trip. Or calamine lotion/pepto bismol. lol.

Pink IS in style in the decorating industry. Every year they come out with a different shade "they" endorse. Your shade is fine "this year". :0) But only as a POP of color....in a monocromatic room.

Oh sure!! That’s true. I love color as well and sometimes have to use restraint, but it sounds like you have a picture in your mind’s eye of what you want the room to look like. If you end up feeling like the color is too strong ie pepto like, you can experiment a bit by adding a little white or gray to soften it. If you google rooms with soft pink in them, it brings up some really pretty examples. In small doses it brings life to the rooms and is quite pretty.

Pink is one of my favorite colors and I like your sense of decorating adventure, Lucille. I'd say go for it. If you don't like it, paint is an easy thing to change.

The guy who mixes paint at our local ACE Hardware once said to me that life is too short not to surround oneself with color. His philosophy inspired me to paint one of the walls of my studio robin egg blue and I absolutely love it. I'm going to be painting three rooms in our house later this year and all of them are going to get some color probably in the form of accent walls.

How did the footstool turn out?

Amazingly well. Two coats of the pink chalk paint, then sanded, then wax. It feels like canvas and is neither rough nor scratchy.

Usually it has a sheepskin rug on it and we put our feet up on that.

There will be light green and orange in the room also, non of this single pop of color stuff (lol Nicole I admire greatly your decorating skills but the living room is destined to be rather loud.)

My vision is slowly deteriorating, but while I have it by God I'm going to treat it to plenty of color. I'm betting the new neighbors will have something say about it, that's OK we can have coffee in their apt if the color is too much for them.

My best friend in high school decorated her bedroom in pink and green. It was a beautiful room. Love your attitude, Lucille!

I like that nice clear pink in the two room pictures but the original pink Lucille asked about had too much of a greyish, brownish cast to it for me.
