Living Room- need help with colors (pics)
Comments (7)Beautiful rooms! Where will the 140" panels begin? Below the top windows? Or above the top windows? I like either the soft ivory, sand or gold dust, depending on what color you paint the walls. My room (you have it above) is painted Benjamin Moore Manchester Tan. I love it. I am not familiar with SW colors at all, so can't comment on kilim beige. My trim was also dark when the room was painted. The Manchester Tan looked good with the dark trim too. I just prefer painted trim and my trim was no where near as nice as yours! Just pointing out that the color also looked nice with the dark trim if you want to look at the color. You probably already realize this, but putting panels on the windows on the fireplace wall will have to cover some window since the windows go from the wall to the fireplace. It will cut down on some light, although you have so many pretty windows it might not matter? I also have a lot of windows, but I did not want to cut any light from the room....See MoreMaster Bath Needs Facelift!
Comments (10)I would definitely go with a wood vanity and personally I would do a darker granite/quartz countertop with white undermount sinks. A white countertop is also a good option to make the vanity stand out but then it will be the only dark item. You have alot of space on the tile to the right of the tub. Can you put a wooden chest there that you can use for storage plus it would bring in the darker tones. You could also change the frames on your prints to larger/thicker wooden frames. If you can only do "one" thing then do the vanity and keep the marble top you have. Mariana...See MoreDining Room need a facelift??
Comments (8)Well the blinds match the blinds across the front of the house so replacing those would put the living room and family room off kilter if standing on the sidewalk. They look pretty bad closed like that - normally they are open and just so noticable...My old hutch use to be white, matching the chairs, then I painted THAT Red to match the trim and now switched the hutch to blue. It never ends I tell you...The white chairs do match the white table legs that aren't shown in the photo...So I think the white is ok..Maybe it is the centerpiece that isn't hitting me. I have been waiting OVER ONE YEAR for a large handwoven basket that is shallow and very long that is handcrafted by a local artist but is gorgeous. I can do all kinds of seasonal displays in it. So I hate to buy something and with my luck the basket is ready next month....Maybe I will fool around with the centerpiece using something existing..I think that is what is driving me nuts in there!...See MoreHelp! Comments (5)that is a lot, lot of wood! It's nice, but it's just a lot. would you consider painting the window/door trim and the baseboards in white? it really would look so nice, especially w/the pine ceiling and the oak floor. here is a before/after here's a wood ceiling and floor w/white window trim so you can see another pic w/your pine ceiling next to white trim (ignore the coffered ceiling beams) If you'd like to put in a few beams, do them white: (notice white trim again!) I'd have the floors stained in a walnut shade. Oak is beautiful in that coloring and if it's red oak, it will hide the natural pink tone. this tone. If you need to put in shelving, consider something like this w/a black background. notice the white trim/baseboards. actually, if you will be doing flooring, consider removing the existing smaller wood baseboards and replacing them w/the taller white ones, like in this pic above and the one showing the wood floor, above. As for ceiling fan, since you don't need the light, pick something in a sleeker type of fan blade, less bulky than what you have.for the storage issue, I don't know what the budget is, or do you have DIY skills? plenty of built-in type of cabinets you could do. Even doing an Ikea hack w/the Billy Book cases would be an option. pine ceiling and walnut stained oak floors, white trim and baseboards. gives you an idea for your space. nice fan too or, if you had thoughts on painting the ceiling...See More- 5 years ago
