Deere Wheel line- Bad cut, any suggestions?
Comments (3)I have the same type issue with my X500. I think it is one of the problems with mowing at the tall heights. It is less noticeable at 3 and 3 1/4 height. What type of blades are you using? I'm mulch mowing and it is certainly not as good a cut as I got with my old 38" deck and bagger. The mulching blades are designed to blow the clippings down, so there isn't much lift to bring the grass back up to height for the blade to cut. However, I also think my lawn has improved dramatically and with less fertilizer input since I learned about mulch mowing....See Morerider cuts bad
Comments (4)If the pulley / spindle is happy, pull the deck and look at the rear tensioner. The bushing gets seized in the arm from time to time. Temporarily loosening the bolt a tad will get you by until the parts come if this is the case. (Provided the locking nut does it's job.)It doesn't move much- but if it doesn't move at all it will affect belt tension under load....See Moreany advice for a bad propagator of cuttings
Comments (11)My butterfly bush have about 3 leaves on average, they are really small leaves. There is no water in the pan, I watered the pots outside & let them drain, and then I put inside so none are sitting in any water. Its not getting any direct sun but I guess it could be getting too hot. I started yesterday to leave the lid cracked open to get more air inside. Show off Betty! ;-) My cuttings are about 5" with all leaves removed except the top 1-2. I started 4 yesterday outside the box, hope those make it. I am going to buy perlite & mix it with peat moss & hope that does better for me....See MoreLawn is BAD since tree cut down! Help!
Comments (7)Our last attempt was something very expensive that's a mixture of seed and some other matter which helped keep in in place and moist. I'm sorry I don't recall the name. It was great! the grass grew nicely for a little while, then slowly all died. That's why I think it's because of the decaying tree roots beneath. I'm thinking the roots of the grass get down so far and then they get to the bad stuff and it dies/ Maybe I'm wrong, but this is the pattern I see. So...we have aerated and reseeded in the Fall again. Time will tell!...See Morerina_Ontario,Canada 5a
