What size containers do I need? (newbie)
Comments (2)You have to decide if you want one container per plant or if you want to put multiple plants into a container. Cardinal Climber I have grown in a 12" hanging basket along with some other flowers. I think I had 2 of the climbers. If there is a deck rail or something else for it to cling to it will grow out of the pot and twist around pretty much anything. I think you could go 10", maybe 8" for 1-2 vines. For peppers an 8-10" container is good. Radish need next to no space so I would just sow some seed in any container you like. They mature quickly so maybe just sow some in a window box that will later have herbs in it. The Zinnias it depends if you want to cram a few into a container or have just one. They are very susceptible to powdery mildew (dahlias too) so good air circulation is important although I don't know that it makes much difference in a bad year for PM. What I have done in the past is use a 12-16" container and put multiple plants in each. Consider the width the plants will get and decide if you want them growing into one another or want lots of space between them and let that be your guide. All of the herbs I would plant together in the window box. Give each plant about 6" of space and you should be fine. Anything growing larger can just be trimmed back. It's exciting getting started, isn't it?...See MoreWhat size corbels do I need for a 15” marble overhang?
Comments (19)i do not believe it is "code" but rather a good practice. Counter Tops should follow the rule of '2/3' if you have 15" of overhang than you would need 45" supported via cabinetry or whatever to avoid support. at least 2/3 of the counters needs to be supported at all time. What material was installed? Quartz can span longer distances and be stronger because it is "glue"...See MoreWhat size curtains and rod do I need?
Comments (6)Do you want to close the curtains? If so, curtains should be 2 or 2.5 times the width of your window. Rod width should be anywhere from 5 to 10" wider on each side. Other things to keep in mind: do you want lined curtains or sheer? Unlined curtains facing a lot of sunlight tend to rot after a while. Hanging them up really high is all the rage now. However, I would measure for what you can afford, if on a budget....See MoreWhat size of TV and media console do I need for this wall?
Comments (52)I really like it, especially with your very 'airy' plant. All 3 objects give one the feeling of 'floating'. Like magic! It makes the oversized electronic, look like it's in a home setting. Very nicely done. Couldn't be any nicer. Now, look for all those with the giant 'entertainment with a bridge' armoires or wall shelving be putting them up on resale websites, so they can lighten the load in their tv rooms... LOL...See MoreCandice
