Carex platyphylla. Silver Sedge in Sun?

Vivien23- Zone 6B(6b. Welland, Ontario (close to Niagara Falls))

I have Carex platyphylla that I would like to divide again and plant in a dry spot that gets minimum 6 hours of sun. Everything I've read about this beautiful plant says that this is not a good site for it. Has anyone tried it?

I've never grown it, but I would keep some of the divisions in the shadier spot, just in case the others don't do well with more sunlight.
