Does anyone have Aeonium Mardi Gras ?

I bought this plant a few weeks ago from Leaf and Clay. When I got it , it had no root system was a cutting . I really thought I was getting an established plant. Anyway I put it in a good gritty mixture and waited 4 days and watered, It is different than any other succulents I have. The leaves are paper thin and the plant does not seem to be doing very well. Any suggestions?

Aeonium are summer dormant, so mine are just starting to grow again. I don;t think Leaf and Clay sells cuttings, I would send them photos and ask for a replacement. That said, your MG will likely root, since it's growing season is juts starting, but do not water until you see roots. Make sure the stem is in the dark, like under pumice or perlite, and leave dry for about 10 days, then check for roots every 8-10 days. Once you have good roots move to good soil and water.

Lisa's right abt these being Summer dormant. When I've tried them here in NYC (indoors), they actually closed up their rosettes, &/or dropped most of their leaves 'til Fall when they start coming back.

Possibly there were problems in her receiving live plants into Hawaii. Importing plants-Hawaii Possibly there was a problem with her exporting plants 'from' Hawaii. Hawaii Export program and Application for Phytosanitary Certificate (PQ-47A) I don't think it is as simple to trade with Hawaii as it is with other mainland states. That does not explain her not replying to emails though. just my 2 cents as usual. I see she has checked the box to get the follow-up replies sent to her email. Hopefully she will check in soon here. Are you still looking for Daltile French Quarter Mardi Gras tile? i have about 390 (12x12’s) that my daughter had bought to tile her home years ago. We laid most of the tile but then put down wood flooring. This is why we have a surplus of this tile. I also have some 12x6’s and 6x6’s left over from my home project. i love this tile and cannot understand why Daltile would discontinue this product. In fact, i was halfway through with my house when Home Depot quit handling this tile. Then after some time went by, they restocked and I was able to finish my home. We don't do Mardi Gras, but do celebrate Shrove Tuesday (known in the local restaurant trade as "National Pancake Day"). While the kiddoes prefer ordinary buttermilk pancakes with faux maple syrup, they don't seem to realize the concept of "cook's choice", so will be disappointed come supper time. I can't face such sweet fare that late in the day. My plan is to make savoury pancakes with sweet potatoes, topped with a bleu cheese mushroom sauce. My recipe recommended a roasted tomato sauce, but tomatoes are pretty woody and pricey here this time of year.

My MG is the most temperamental of my Aeoniums. It will probably drop some leaves and then make a comeback.
