Lighting plays a huge role in how a room feels. I notice that you have little lighting in the rooms other than the ceiling pot lights - a table lamp tucked in a corner and the cylinder thing, also in a corner. That's a start, but I could envision more table lamps and a torchiere in there. You might consider cross posting this on the Home Decorating forum. Sounds like you like the basic hue, just not that dark, so try mixing white with it. Start with 25% white, 75% Toffee Crunch (1 cup white to 3 cups TC) and mix well. Roll it on the wall and see what you think. If it's still too dark, try going half and half. That way you won't waste the paint you've already bought. Next choice would be to choose a color one or two shades lighter than TC on the same color strip, but I think first I'd try diluting it with white so you won't waste the paint you originally bought. Those were some of the choices i had considered, but i think they are too dark for my space.

You really only wanted the marble and ledge detail. Unless what made you swoon was the darker contrast. ...........with that marble. When you get "inspiration" you must ask yourself WHAT is inspiring you, exactly. That's what we call "learning to see" in this business. That is not meant as insult. It simply means there can be many reasons to love a visual. But it usually means you love the WHOLE of the photo and the total result. In short? What's making that visual so gorgeous......: ) ?
