I'd keep things very simple -- For an Arts & Crafts feel with the mustard paint (which I also like) my personal preference would be to swap out the mirror for something simple and rectangular trimmed in a deeper oak with a clearly A&C vibe, leave the dark doorknob, and switch out the light fixture to a darker metal as well. Then just a picture over the toilet and nothing else. Small touches of deep teal would be a fabulous accent color with the mustard and brick! I like the mirror, and it plays nicely with the light fixture. But I think they're both too delicate for the strong mustard color. Another possibility would be to go 'Moorish'. That camel rug is fabulous, and really ties the brick to the mustard. If you could find or make a mirror framed with a tile mosaic that includes the deep terra/brick, dark blue, teal, some mustard and cream -- That could be fabulous. Maybe Talavera tile?

My mother in law has a neat feature in her bathroom that I would like to track down and utilize in my bathroom remodel. It looks like a very small cabinet that is recessed into the wall next to the sink. It has a chrome like front and it opens by having the door 'spin' into the wall. It's used for toothbrushes or soap. It stands maybe 8.5" high and 6" wide and I'm not sure how deep. When not in use, the door spins back, is flush to the wall and essentially hides whatever is behind it. Her house is over 40 years old and she has had this thing as long as I've known her (15 years). I asked her what it was, but she has no idea what it is called or what to get one nowadays. Can anyone help? Thanks so much.

I had the exact same problem. I picked out the vanity I wanted but did not think about the fact that it wasn't made to sit flush against the wall. I spent a month looking for something else, but in the end we decided to go with something shorter and have it not be against the wall. But we were going from 72" to 60" which is probably not workable in your mom's situation. I did find a lot of vanities that did have flat sides and could work in a corner, if you are willing to have the countertop fabricated. They just need to not have any trim detail on the top or bottom like the one you picked out does. I would just look at the ones without the pre-made tops. Because the pre-made top will still leave you with a slight gap because of the countertop overhang. This is an example: Avanity Modero which is sold everywhere, not just at Lowe's. The cabinet we ended up buying is an Avanity Madison which won't work for you, but I assume it is of similar quality. We are pretty happy with it. The drawers and doors have soft close but I do feel like the glides in my Ikea kitchen drawers are better quality. It is very pretty and I wanted a stained wood so I am really happy with our choice. If I had been willing to go with a painted finish, I think we might have stuck with the 72" Modero.

Hello, Since you are planning on keeping the vanity cabinets with dark granite countertops along with white subway tiles, I think an easy solution would be to bridge the gap between the countertop and the subway tile by using a white marble look floor tile with dark veins. Below are just a couple of tiles I found on Houzz. I think using light-colored floor tiles would keep the bathrooms from looking too small or dark compared to using darker floor tiles. Are you also planning on painting the walls? I think painting the walls in a gray color would be also a quick and inexpensive way of making sure the whole space looks good. The current paint color looks like it's on the yellow side and I think your tiles, granite countertop, and the brown vanities would definitely look better if the yellow walls went gray.
