Can someone add an idea book to your account? I wouldn't think so. At any rate, open the idea book, click on Settings on the top right hand of the page. A new window will pop up and you should see the option to delete the book.

If you click on your idea book. You should get a page that looks like this. (At least it does on my iPhone)

Click on the 3 dots in the upper right. In the box that opens up click on settings. A box opens for editing idea book. At the bottom it says delete idea book.

i just noticed on my iPad when I click my idea book I do not have to click on the 3 dots, there is a tab next to the dots that says settings.

Did you have your idea book set to private. If not you should do that

I try to delete another person's idea book for months already..there's no "delete" option in settings when it's "joint" idea book, I get it only when it's only mine and not shared

(maybe it's me only, but I think folks reported same issue when trying to delete "shared" idea books)

I believe one can ask Houzz's support team..I didn't yet because I'm very tired of talking to Houzz's support team in the past few months..))

But I just removed it. I went into advanced settings and checked off the below. Phew.. that was easier than I thought. I am so glad that cpartist posted this so I could remove it.

I had that happen earlier this year and was very upset about it, because as CP notes, the items were nothing that I had any interest in. I did as boxerpal shows above and sadly cut myself off from the GW world, other than people replying to comments or posts.

That's the problem boxer gal. The only way is to cut myself off and I'm not willing to do that. This is bogus.

CP, when I click on your username above and select your ideabooks, I can see 8 of them, but not one with Kitchen carts. Are you the only one seeing it?

Oh, I want to say that I never click on people's ideabooks! I have no interest in seeing what others are interested in and saving. All my idea books are private, because I don't see why anyone would find them interesting.

Can someone click on my user name and check that they are indeed private? I also make my comments on the photos I save private.

No it's still there and in reality I have 24 idea books. Not sure but think most are private. Here's my idea book page. Note the first one. The last thing I need is a damn kitchen cart!

Can you contact the other person on the ideabook and ask them to remove you? I do find that weird, but when I click on you I do not see carts. I see Bridge ideas as the first one.

If I click on the individual idea book I can see all the pictures in that book. Those 8 books must not be set to private.

Still can't figure out why you don't get a delete button on the edit idea book page. Time to contact the powers to be at house.

You can try contacting Support, but in my experience they do not reply or do anything. You'll get a boilerplate auto-response telling you they received it and will respond within XX hours, but they never do.

I've also tried contacting Emily Hurley with mixed results. She might eventually respond whereas Support never does. You will probably have to do a "call out" thread since Emily does not have messaging turned on.

One thing I noticed in the so-called help topics is that they do not appear to support non-App users -- they primarily support purchases, pros, and Android or iOS apps. I think that partly explains why there are so many technical issues with Houzz -- they do not appear to have the expertise to deal with the site as a whole, they're limited to simple app development/support.

Just an FYI that I have never had an Ideabook but suddenly one recently showed up. It turns out they took my bookmarks and put them in an Ideabook. Fortunately, they made it "private". (Or, maybe I made it private, I don't remember for certain now!)

damiarain, thanks for looking at my page. The privacy settings seems to be working as I have 27 ideabooks! I guess the empty laundry one didn't get set as private.

But I'm still puzzling over how you add an ideabook to another user's account? I went to your page, cp, and also couldn't see it.

The message box you show is the one I get if I tap Create Ideabook. (I'm using website, not app). At one point, I was sharing ideabooks with my DH and a KD. Could it be some past Collaboration permission you gave somebody sometime? I can't remember how it all worked.
