I like to experiment a little so late fall in 2016 I bought 6 plants of Blue Heaven and just 1 of Standing Ovation because I thought I would like Blue Heaven better. Neither grew much for me last summer and that has continued through this summer of 2018. They are growing in a raised bed on drip irrigation and I supplement once or twice a week with extra water from hand held hose.

Blue Heaven doesn’t reach 1’ in height, Standing Ovation doesn’t reach 18” in height in both cases well short of their published heights and besides Standing Ovation is reportedly slightly shorter in height when mature.

Of course, I’m wondering why mine seem dwarfed. Besides that, why is Blue Heaven smaller than Standing Ovation. I am growing them in California, which is well out of their natural range. But I grow a lot of plants outside their normal range and none seem to struggle. Perhaps these are more sensitive in that way?
