Comments (5)A laundry tub faucet will accept a garden hose. Attach a garden hose, cut to length, install a repair coupling and check out all the types of sprayers available. Currently we have three different types of sprayer floating around. The original gun type, rainshower on a wand and rainshower handheld....See MoreCan I make this work? Pics inside...
Comments (16)Love that rug! However I would pick up the gold color for the walls. BM Roasted Sesame Seed would be a good contender. Another color direction would be a soft green picking up the color in the leaves. Something like Martha Stewart Tadpole Green. A trellis print fabric in chocolate/white for the drapes picking up the brown in the rug's background would be fun. Regarding the furniture, would you consider painting it black and applying a wax to give it a warm handrubbed glow? It would look fantastic!...See MoreCan I make this door work somewhere?
Comments (17)Weedy, if you need to refinish it, try Citristrip. It's very effective - and much less toxic than a lot of chemical strippers. I've used it on several things, and been very happy. The secret is to apply it in a thick layer - more like frosting than paint - and completely cover it with plastic, so it doesn't dry out. Then let it sit for at least 24 hours - no peeking! When you remove the plastic, you can scrape off the old finish with a plastic scraper - it will look like a brown sludge. Don't use metal - the wood will have softened with the stripper. When you've scraped off as much as you can, rinse with water and a plastic scrubbie, and towel it dry. Depending on how many coats of finish are on the door, you may need to reapply stripper, repeating the process. Then you'll be ready to sand and refinish. I hope you find a good home for it - it is beautiful!...See Moreoverly large gold mirror above stone fireplace - Can I make it work?
Comments (23)Thanks for all the comments. I agree I need to lower it, it is so heavy, but I'm thinking of installing wire on the back so it hangs lower and at a bit of an angle. I have a beautiful painting that I love on the wall next to this one. Some of you said what I really kind of knew, but was too tired after the hanging to think of changing it! I'll be cleaning up the bricks, and accessorizing, Thanks for your creative ideas, gives me inspiration. Oh, and I couldn't flip the direction - I have reasonably high ceilings, but it would not make it comfortably - 60" wide...See MoreTeresa Ccc
