Do you caulk around a free standing tub?

Just finished our master bath reno. My question is, should the contractor have caulked around the bottom of the tub? If you look closely you can see some particles have already slid under the tub. What has everyone else done? Caulk or no caulk?

Definitely caulk. Make sure to use 100% silicone.

how do you retile under and around a heavy free standing tub?

Couple strong folks to pick it up & move it around the bathroom out of the way while working around it. Place it on a long piano dolly to make each relocation easier. Or, demo either the door frame or a wall to move it out, then back in. Add the cost of rebuilding door or wall to your project, What else could there be to do?
