3 Wild Plants to ID S.E. MI z5

Can anyone ID this purple flowering plant that I found at Ives Road Fen Preserve? The flower looks a lot like New York Ironweed (Vernonia noveboracensis) but I'm not sure the rest of the plant does.

Also, the yellow flowers in the background in the second photo, any ideas what those are? Sorry the photos aren't better but the heavy wind made it difficult to get an unblurred picture. I think the leaves in photo 5 belong to the yellow flowers but I'm not 100% sure.

Finally, can anyone ID the plant with pods in photo 5?

First one look like liatris. Last one is milkweed.

Agree with both, with the first likely to be Liatris aspera. As for the second.......one of the zillions of the late season, yellow flowered Asteraceae :-)

I checked several resources, and this does appear to be Miscanthus. Saccharum has a central inflorescence axis that is much longer than the branches. Its spikelets shed in pairs, along with joints of the inflorescence axis. Miscanthus has a central inflorescence axis that is shorter than the branches. Its spikelets shed singly, leaving the persistent inflorescence axis. If you want to see what the dried heads look like, try these searches: Saccharum ravennae spikelets Miscanthus sinensis spikelets

It is easy to know if it is mugwort as previously stated above by two of us. Not complicated at all. Artemisia leaves have a silver reverse. https://nakazora.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/yomogi_underside.jpg And yes, check for the silver undersides.
