I HATE budgets! Seeking countertop advice
Comments (6)i may be wrong on this but my granite place listed fantasy brown as a marble. you may want to check any lighter granite for etching as a lot of "quartzite" are marble. moon white is very speckled with garnets spots so not like the cambria. obviously marble would look like the cambria. not many other granites looks like marble though. i think super white has that look but it also is pricey. why don't you start visiting some stoneyards to see what speaks to you. i have dark cherryish cabs with blue ice or antartida granite. it is a lot busier than what you want but has that creamy background...See MoreHelp with kitchen counter-tops is really needed...
Comments (42)for the handles, may I suggest something to pick up on the hues in the flooring? A little more copper toned. you have light cabs, light floors. I think throwing in a dark ORB w/o actual copper highlights would be too much of a contrast. IMO. cypress park Sandra, I like the porcelain one better than the other one. Does the backsplash have to be done immediately? If the tones in the porcelain tile you picked clash w/the ivory tones in the counter, it could be a problem. However, I did find some copper toned ones that should be avail. these are porcelain/SS, and treated so as not to stain or tarnish. I LOVE these for your kitchen. timeless and gorgeous. They are probably not super cheap, but it would be worth it for me. http://www.miusartmosaics.com/arabesque-lantern-beacon-copper-tile-in these would also work. the site is here: maybe they have them in stock.http://www.westsidetile.com/arabesque-tiles/ i like this one too. notice the copper faucet. beautiful w/the glass mosaic. if you got the cream countertop, this would look amazing w/your floors. this last one is a copper colored slate/quartzite....See MoreSeeking Advice on Placement of Countertop Seam
Comments (7)Just to provide the final decision based on what the fabricator told me. a) they could not do it in two pieces. (I guess they ordered the small slab size) b) they recommended against moving the seam from (B) to (A). (B) has it supported underneath by the wood that makes up the side of the cabinets there which is evidently best to stop it from moving. c) they told me the seam will be hardly noticible with the material I selected and they have a good match in color in the glue they will use. Accordingly the template they sent me (attached above) is the one that I approved. Fingers crossed it comes out nice. The install is July 11. I will post again aftert that....See MoreSeeking reviews of 36" slide-in gas range & counter-depth refrigerator
