Remove the shutters , since IMO the sidelights are part of the door they should all be the same color and I would do a black door with the large black planters. and deal with some great landscaping and new light.

Thanks so much for your ideas! Orginally I was thinking a black front door but was steered away from the idea because we get so much afternoon/evening sun on the front of the house.

Yes I definitely have to get a new front door. It is cracked and warped due to the amount of direct sunlight it gets hence why the grass is brown in that area of the yard. The house sits up on a hill and there is landscaping in front of the dead grass. You cannot see the dead grass from the road. We just need to get a sprinkler system. I want a door with a window because we have a great view from the front of the house, the sunsets are amazing.

Remove the tree that was planted too close to the garage.

Keep the current door but paint it black

Replace the shutters with a vines growing on wires

Create a new landscaping plan for the front area.
