The carnival is on...rides, games, food and fun!

    Our neighbor called yesterday and told my dh not to laugh at what she was about to tell him. She said there is a great big eagle on our deck and I am afraid to get out of the car. We walked over there and sure enough, a young eagle was on her deck railing. She called the DNR, and they asked her a bunch of questions, said he is young and awkward, and is trying to learn to hunt.

    It was wonderful to watch him and while, then he flew off the deck and sat by the river. Hope he makes it ok, the parents are probably around somewhere.

    I zoomed in on him, since we all wanted to stay well away so we wouldn't spook him (and those talons and that beak are pretty lethal looking!). It was really wonderful to see one so close up.


    And we went to opening day at the fair afterwards.
