Fireclay Tile sells a 6" x 6" field tile.

Thank you alerivay1 but I was just on their site and 6x6 doesn't have the wavy look, it looks like a typical flat 6x6

You wnt handmade or macine made they are not the same and I wonder why the need for handmade textured tile for a backsplash

Machine made but handmade look tile.... Exactly like the photo I posted as 1st comment, looking for exactly that. Machine made will have uniform edges and will be cheaper. The need is because I like it better haha. Handmade look for nicer look to me/ I like the reflective/ non flat look about it. There is such thing as handmade look machine made tile that is in 3x12 sizes and 3x6 sizes by MSI and other vendors it can even be found at home depot. I am looking for 6x6 though specifically and am unable to find that size of it.

Cle tile makes 6" x 6" in terra cotta tile, but that is more rustic than your photo. (I have their zellige hex tiles in my ktichen.) I confess, my monitor doesn't show a lot of handmade character in your inspiration photo. You might want to order samples of Fireclay and Heath, as well as Cle.

BeverlyFLADeziner, I was about to order and had my tile guy (who is also my painter) measure our kitchen area and came to realize after seeing how large that the 6x6 are on the walls that I would need 4x4 and I think they were 4x4 in the video and I didn't realize that!! Do you happen to know of 4x4 in something exactly like this? I was about to go order them, and when he showed me and I watched the video again and I think they had to be 4x4!! :( (I've seen on tilebar the Montauk 4x4 tiles that have a similar face but they are a flat shimmer in person, not high gloss like the Studio McGee ones and the ones you showed me so I am definitely looking for that high gloss shiny ceramic style of the 6x6 you found) Thank you SO MUCH for your help, hoping you see this and happen to know a source for the same thing in 4x4 because I would only get about 2 and 3/4 of these up to the bottom of my floating shelf :( If you know a source for 4x4 of these PLEASE let me know, I am so desperate for this look haha, THANK YOU AGAIN!!

Just saw you needed 4x4 instead. Sorry but I'll post this here anyway in case others are looking for 6x6. Daltile just introduced a handmade looking ceramic in several sizes, including 6x6.

Those shelves are mounted higher than 18" above the counter. These tiles below are 6x6

Winchester Tiles (from the UK) are beautiful handmade tiles in some lovely colors and sizes. Sonoma Tile and Fireclay Tile also make great handmade tiles.

BeverlyFLADezigner interesting I was trying to guess size by the light switch haha, I assumed 4x4 bc I thought too big for 6x6 and I didn't realize they made 5x5. My cabinets are the standard 18 inch and so are my shelves here are 2 pics I took with mock up 6x6 there. So really most of my kitchen other than behind oven would only be able to get 2 and 3/4 tiles vertically after spacing (if I am only able to post one per comment I'll add the 2nd in a new comment below :) To me they look too big because my cabinets are standard height? It could be the ugliness of the brown paper bag though haha (which is exactly 6 across if anyone wants to do 6x6 mock up at home haha) I feel like 4x4 would get me the Mercer island look especially since my cabinets are standard height? The 6x6 just look not proportional/ too large? I looked up Heath, crl_, their 4x4 (and any of their tiles) didn't seem to have this same look glossy and surface look :( They seemed more flat to me :( Diana Bier Interiors, I saw Winchester ones! Those would be great! I assumed as soon ad I saw it was a UK site that they wouldn't ship here... I will have to check tomorrow hoping that the costs to ship aren't insane though yikes! But yes, their 4x4 would work hoping they are reasonable and that they even ship here!

Crl_ what a beautiful kitchen there!! Thanks for posting photos! I don't see as heavy a surface look and as glossy as I'm looking for like from the video and the photo (with the tiles in the diamond pattern) but those look gorgeous in your kitchen! Though maybe its just my monitor? But you have a beautiful kitchen there for sure! And I love your little teapot:)

jillianfl, Winchester is carried by retail stores here in the US. You just go to their website and type in your location--they give you the retailers (or "stockists" as they call them!) I'm in the NY metro area and they have several retailers near me.

Jillianfl, I think you may be focusing too much on something that is more a photograph effect than what the tiles actually look like. I would suggest that you need real samples in your hands to be able to make decisions.

crl_ I have a sample of tile like this that is 3x12 in size (I just don't want that size) and saw the 6x6 online, it is definitely not a photograph effect :)

I just installed winchester 5x5 tiles. They are stocked in Boston so depending on where you are the shipping costs will vary. very reasonably priced. One draw back is there was a lot of breakage, although we ended up with enough I would suggest ordering more than the extra 10%

Gorgeous isabel98!! I just found a local place that carries them and just got samples to take home! I'll post pics soon! Isabel98 are your cabinets 18 inches high? Wondering how you got 4 levels up there I know you would have cut the top but did you cut the bottom row as well?

we did 3 full rows and the top row only is cut down except around the window I left that piece whole.

Thanks so much. If you are looking at the Residence line know that the tiles are uneven around the edges but also in thickness too, a few stick out here and there. I used a 1/16 spacer on the widest part of the tile so that I could keep the grout line as thin as possible but of course with the uneven edges it is thicker in some places.

word of caution: We had a lot of breakage. I would recommend ordering more than you need and make sure when you pick them up you actually pull each tile out of the box to check. We had 2 boxes broken initially and then realized later that some of the corners were broke off. Luckily we had a enough without having to replace any of them but only because we over ordered probably by 25%. I am getting a credit back for two boxes tho. also, be sure to seal these crackle tiles. I set them up and then sealed but you could seal them individually before setting too.

they are yummy and worth all the extra effort.

DalTile has this line that has an "undulated" finish. I'm afraid they don't come square though.
