How do I go about getting a kitchen table with quartz top?
Comments (4)most pedestal table kits include just the legs and pedestal, and not the apron and base, so that would need to be built. Have you looked at lower end furniture stores, you may be able to buy the table, and remove the top to add the quartz top....See MoreCustom table for banquette
Comments (14)We haven't quite finished this project, so this is the first sharing of it on gardenweb, but we made a banquette and table in the past month. The table top is an IKEA countertop that dh cut to size and routed... I stained it and then waterloxed it. We put it on 2 cast iron base pedestals that I found online. Someday we might switch out the table surface for granite (or whatever) when we actually do the cabinets and counters in our kitchen. The first pic shows the table when I was almost done finishing it (we "sealed" off the music room from the kids/pets). The second picture shows it in place with the nearly finished banquette. While I haven't totally said no to the idea, I am afraid that a granite/silestone table might be too "cold" for a kitchen table. I'll make that final decision whenever we come to it....See Morequartz top kitchen table?
Comments (8)We have a black granite kitchen table. It came with the house when we bought it 12 years ago because it was too expensive for the sellers to move across country since it is so heavy. I never would have thought about a stone top table, but I absolutely love it as it is indestructible. No need to worry about glass rings, marks from kids craft projects, or scratches from a naughty dog that jumps on the table when no one is around. It is on a wood base. Unfortunately, we just redid our kitchen and the teak legs on the table/chairs no longer match. My husband isn't willing to let go of the table so now I am trying to find a metal base and matching chairs. (In our case, staining the legs/chairs to match the kitchen would be too dark with the black granite.) Depending on the size of your table, there are several companies that make metal bases that aren't too expensive....See MoreGetting a quartz slab for table
Comments (7)"If I buy the base from Room & Board without the top, will a quartz fabricator be able to provide me with a one piece top for the table?" Yes, but that table does not look strong enough to support the weight of the top. "Is there any structural reason why the quartz top is two pieces once you get beyond a certain size?" The top is in two pieces for easier shipping only. I was recently in a lawyer's office that had an inadequately supported engineered stone table top with a failing seam. I wouldn't touch it without rebuilding the base....See MoreUser
