Pretty little orange and black butterfly

This little one was flitting around some stepping stones yesterday.






I'm not entirely sure which it is. Poking around online has led me to think either Silvery Checkerspot or Pearl Crescent. I think it looks more like the pictures of the Checkerspot, but the Crescent is supposed to be a lot more common, and everything says it's hard to tell them apart. I am trying to reach out to Mass Audubon about identification, as well, but I wanted to share with you all, too ... thought you might enjoy the pictures!
