Gorgeous! Brings back memories. Years ago, Dad asked me to haul off his front porch rocker. A major ordeal, in & of itself, as he never threw anything away that had potential life left in it, but it had been repaired so many times it was beyond hope. I *planted* it in the garden along with a morning glory. It was glorious! Dh travels a LOT so didn't notice right away. I came home from work one day to find both chair & vine gone. Gone, I tell ya! I ran inside yelling 'we've been vandalized!' & dh says, 'oh, that ole chair, it was broken & covered in vines so I tossed it in the trash pile.' Note this was the very day of trash pickup. My lovely bit of history was, well...history. Trust me when I say, dh NEVER made that mistake again, lol. To be fair, he's since *seen the Light* and often volunteers to help with garden junk projects, often bringing home stuff with 'potential'. I had to forgive him. My Dad's gone now, but your post brings back sweet memories of rocking on the front porch with my daddy of a hot summer's eve while sipping on a tall icy glass of lemonade. *sniff* TFS. I have a rocking chair where the bottom of it broke the pegs out of the legs gave out and the bow snapped off one side of the chair. Can this be repaired? Without taking the entire bottom legs and bow off?

So this really is not that hard of a problem. You can use any of Ikea's Capita legs and/or any version of them from a big box store. You want a leg with some type of mounting plate. You want to mount the plate on the sides, back and front rather than the bottom. Here are a couple of mounting plates and you can see how they can attach to the vertical frame rather than bottom. If you are concerned that too much metal will show at the bottom, just attach a small thin piece of wood with glue and clamps to those vertical panels (no need to reinforce the hole bottom, any 3/4 strip will do fine). In any method you choose, you really want to the weight transferring from the panels to the legs, rather than having them transfer to the bottom of the cabinet and then to the legs. The cabinet will need to be attached to the wall to avoid any tipping risk, as you will have a pretty narrow center of gravity, that attachment will probably eliminate a lot of strain on the legs so in the end, don't over-engineer this. It is an hour project with a trip to the local big box store. If it doesn't look the way you hope after you attempt it, take the legs off and donate the cabinets. Good luck
