tub spout for 5/8" pipe?
Comments (2)If it measures approx. 3/4" OD it is 1/2" pipe (call-out is based on ID/capacity, not OD.) But, BUT, the tapered threading is going to fit because sae pipe threads are standardized. If this is anywhere outside the USA, disregard, because euro pipe threads are different, unless they have been built for sale in USA, but even then: I have handled plumbing parts (Italy) that we had to order new adapters for, and talk about a language barrier... To test this, go buy a 1/2" coupling for galvanized pipe; it should thread on perfectly (if the old threads are clean, no old pipe dope/rust). Casey...See MoreTub Spout Diverter Does Not Drop
Comments (3)Hi, thanks for your response. I'm not exactly sure what you are recommending. When the diverter is in the up position, there is some seepage from the spout so I guess I'm ok there. I have waited several minutes and the spout pin never drops. Like I said, I hear a squealing type noise which eventually goes away but the pin never drops. On your second idea, please explain what you mean by loosening the spout. Do you mean loosening the Alen nut at the back of it? If i do that the spout will not be secure and start to to move a bit. Need a little more clarification of possible. Thanks....See MoreWall mount tub spout that pulls out??? Tub fixtures question!
Comments (2)I have had a bathtub spout with the handheld shower above it. You can also simply replace a regular shower head with the hand held which has the flexible jointed metal water hose (or what ever they are called). The big box stores carry them. Since you don't have a shower over head, you can only get a deck mount, which I also had. It sat next to the roman tub spout and the metal hose sat behind the false front. As an alternative, go to Wal-Mart and buy the blue & white scrubber on the extendable handle for reaching the far sides of the tub. They also sell replacement heads. Sold by the mops? I use this in my roman tub. Works great, easy, cheap....See MoreHow do I fix this crooked tub spout?
Comments (10)We actually have a slip on spout and copper pipe that's not soldered. My plumbers used a screw on type pipe in the wall that stubs out the tile (not sure if that makes sense). The wall is not completely square and therefore the tub stub out is not square. Is there any way to remedy there tub spout wo having to go through the back drywall?...See Moreweedmeister
